Ideally a newage that weighs the same as a classic is the best of the two....?
It no longer gets used as a daily driver (when i wanted to drive it), that stopped earlier this year when it got stickered up for Time Attack series, i hated driving it on the road like that, attracted too much attention

450 was about the limit for daily use in the classic i think, you cant just gun and go, you get LOTS of chasis flex on the road, and feel like you're forever fighting the undulations in the road, as the power goes where the **** it wants.

Having driven a 500hp/540lbft newage on the road, in the same manner, if i had the choice between the two cars on a daily basis, the classic would never get driven!

I did 6000+ miles on the road at 560+, and my body certainly new about it, but my brain had fun in the process. You need your witts about you when your playing at this level, as everything happens a hell of a lot sooner!

There is a point of no return with modifying these cars to these levels, once there, you cant go back (takes a lot to go backwards), and yet you gradually begin to dislike driving the car on a day to day basis.

I got spoilt when i bought the M3 in January, as that does everything i need on a day to day basis, in comfort, no rattles, no shakes, it just does it. Jumping back in the scoob to go work in it, felt like going to the gym for a work out.

If you want this power for every day use, use a newage shell. If you want it for occassional, scare yourself sh1tless moments, use the classic shell.

Peoples definition of daily drivers always differs. Some may daily drive them, but so could miss daisy.

Using these cars everyday, to their potential, WILL put you in Jail or a Coffin!

Simple as!

Mine was used in a moderate manner, cruising on big A roads, and using the power from junctions, roundabouts, etc. Occassionally using full power for overtaking. Using it all the time, got me trouble too often, you just catch cars faster than they think!

Lol, i know what you mean, even if i haven't owned/driven a 500hp+ scoob.

Sounds like the newage could make the whole experience a lot more rewarding and relaxing.....if that's possible!

Agreed...

I had a 450/450 classic, but after a run out in the car, I felt as though I myself had been for a run.

It was both physically and mentally tiring tbh.

That is why I am building a newage...

The latter is the one that suits me more

I have other cars for the normal stuff, as mentioned before my better half has a 320 Bhp P1, and drive a van daily (plumber) so it'll just be an occasional driver and set up with a track bias rather than the road as I couldn't live with a stripped out 500+ Bhp car for a daily drive, don't know if anyone could!

Call me short sighted, but I dont see a front mount in this picture??? *

I can even still see what looks like the plastic bracing behind the numberplate.

* That's not to see that it does not have a Frontmount/replacement radiatr combo, rather than a 'cut the bumper' front mount???

In which case, all due due respect to a stealthily tuned car that LOOKS like it has a top mount!

That car is Alan Garrords OLD car, which has the Lateral front mount/ rad combination, painted black for extra stealth. There is no need to cut the bumper on this kit. It's the same as i have on mine.

That car is circa 600bhp

Yeah! Alright!

I get the message.

The owner has obviously got the look he was after. Right down to the early low level rear spoiler and oragne lenses.

I cant be the first to be fooled, or the last?

I believe mine is capable of 500+bhp but will tear the gearbox to pieces so is running less than that at the moment.

Also, no rr figures to confirm / deny the claim...

Hopefully, when I get round to upgrading the trans I can get a re-map and run 30/32psi, which should take it above 500bhp.... fingers crossed .

My last map was 483/493 with 1.6 bar of boost...next mod is Bosch pump as my existing uprated pump just isn't upto the required spec. I hope I can get a few more g-g's from her after that. Also doing a few mods to do with heat soak in various components. I'm also fitting a cooler thermostat which should allow the engine to run more advance during hard usage. Will post again when final spec completed.

I can still remember destroying a F355 spider a few years ago, whilst car had a full load of tools and electrical stuff in the rear of the wagon

It took him a while to eventually move over, and his face was a picture when we left him like he was standing.

My car was a "sleeper" until april this year, when the stickers went on. The biggest shocks are from bikers

surely the best way of proving 500+ is down the drag strip? seems to be 1 or 2 scoobs with 500+ only doing 12s, if thats put down to driver error, why have it if you cant use it? also im told terminal speed is the key to bhp as its car not driver, is this true? might save me many ks going the same way.

So unless your car can't do a good 1/4 mile time it can't be 500bhp ??? I think what you need to do is start accelerating in your impreza at 80mph next a big powered impreza to see how they really move

Quick Reply: pics and specs of scoobies over 500bhp!!
