.

The problem with running over 500bhp is ,the more power you have the harder it is to get the power down,i only ran a 12.2 at 119mph with a misfire.I know i will get it down to low 11s next year, have spoke to matt and olly ,they say its all in the start ,when i last went down the strip there were a few new age stis going down that were only just getting into the high 13s.the way my P1 pulls over 80mph is scary ,i cant see many cars keeping up ,i hit full boost in 4th and 5th 1.9-2 bar

80mph is a good speed when the car starts to REALLY REALLY pull on a big powered car, from that speed going thru all the gears properly is fun

thanks for that explation just making sure i can justify spending x amount on another 120ish bhp when going to 550also cant understand why some lower spec cars can get into the 11s, but martys post above has probably explained that l

Next time i am down rcm and you are there ,i will have to take you for a spin .Regarding 1/4 times you do lose a little bit with a 6 speed box over 5 speed (1 extra gear change)
Cheers

Martin[/QUOTE] cheers marty, just out of interest i tried a standing quarter in my car (got a racelogic and supposed to be very accurate) i was crap
could not do it, the o-60 0-100 and the quarter were very slow, think a standard newage would be quicker, my 60ft was 2.33 just bogged down, that will teach me!

Interesting thread this - obviously people want 500+ for different reasons, certainly not all about drag times! My old scoob was great as a fast road car but wasn't designed for the drag strip - twas fun, especially on the Continent

Alan,

Is that straight section of pipe on the inlet side just above the turbo a charge cooler of some sort?
