The police are required to make sure that the property is secure when they leave it. So, if you can show that the door is no longer secure, they will have to sort it out.

A friend of mine moved into a rental home next door to his parents. The next morning he is in bed asleep with his girlfriend when the front door is kicked in and a spaniel races up the stairs followed by a puffing copper.
The copper says "Nick what are you doing here"
Nick relpies "I live here, moved in yesterday!"
Coppers reply is unrepeatable although did ask if they had the new address of the old tenant.
The police did also pay to fix his front door as they were at fault for not realising the occupier had changed.
