I would look at a few more if i were you, if this is the first one you are looking at you will have nothing to compare it to, if the advert has lies in it then there may be other issues with the car. Remmember its 12 years old and could have been to hell and back, the mileage cant even be confirmed, if it developes an engine problem then your investment of 4k becomes 1.5k quickly. I went to see a few around the area of this one and i would steer clear, all tarted up ****e. Be careful and even consider getting the AA or rac check it over before you hand over your hard earned, it may save you alot of cash.

yer was think that, going to look at another garage on the way to this one, which have an r reg on with less miles for only £300 more, so going have a test drive there and test the other one to, Am only thinking about having it for a year, just to have some fun etc, then will hopefully be going for a newer one,

Iam in to minds, my car is fine and drives really well, cant complain about the 172bhp, just come into some money and want some fun,

Why is life so hard, iam loosing hair over this lol

try the sarch function on here m8 just type in keighley trade.might be an idea to spend some time reading through and asking questions on here and other sites because it seems you know nothing about subarus(not a dig m8 of course you are not going to know anything if you havnt owned one before)

if you spend the time to have a search on here you will find nearly everything you need to know and then you will be better informed because at the moment whatever the dealer tells you,you will have to take as the truth because you dont know any better.

if you get a bad example then it will be the most exspensive and frustrating experience ever but if you get a good example it will be the most reliable and exciting car you will own.

in my 2002 WRX i put about £10.00 a week on average to go to work and back,3 mile eachway=6 miles a day x 5 days aweek =30 miles a week roughly.
So,bout 14-15mpg around town.

If i have to go on a run i can get 320 ish from a full tank.

Please dont go to the place you have just posted up, its more like an over priced scrap yard. i went to look at a MINT white sti, what i found was a hand painted( with brush) bonnet and front bumper and an interior that i wouldnt store chickens in, that wasnt the only car that was that bad. It was 100 mile round trip for me after a day at work, i wasnt happy.

There are differances in engine engine spec between STi and WRX, there are differances in suspension spec between STi and WRX and there are differance in transmission between STi and WRX. If its an STi you want then make sure you buy a genuine STi. You cant make a WRX into an STi without a lot of hard work and money.

Obvious tell tale signs are STi's have a red inlet manifold, imports have pink grill badges, the back lights have no orange for the indicator, it all white and normally they have gold wheels. The newage have pink suspension struts but not sure if thats true about the classics??

Hope that helps

I got 200 miles out of my first tank on my 2007 STi and that was with conservative driving, I dread to think what it would be like if I gave it a good few blast per journey.

One thing is for sure, these cars are not to be bought if you worry about fuel consumption!

1997 Impreza Turbo

The Turbo model received a revised engine with a higher compression ratio, low friction pistons, smaller turbo and revised engine management system. Power output was unchanged at 208 bhp, but maximum torque increased by 5% to 214 lb ft at a lower 4,000 rpm.

Catalunya was based on the 1997 Impreza Turbo

Special Features:

Special black mica paintwork (red metallic flecks)
Colour matched door mirrors
Gold Alloys (same ones as fitted to 2.0 Sport, but painted gold)
Front and rear seats and side door panelling re-trimmed in black with red highlights
Short rally style gear **** (initial sales blurb promised a quick shift!)
Carbon fibre effect dashboard
Air conditioning
Special floor mats (black with red trim and Catalunya logo)
Side and rear Catalunya decals
Interior numbered Catalunya plaque

The first examples were registered during March 1997, for an on the road price of £21,610. Note that some dealers decided to cash in on tremendous demand for "Cats", and fitted leather seats, sunroof and other options to all their Cats, forcing buyers to hand over significantly more money than the list price, increasing their profit margin on each car sold.

Erm, I wish . On all 3 of my imports I have been lucky to ever get over 150 on a tank (I never go below a quarter though so not sure how much difference that makes tbh) The other half has managed 250+ before on the motorway.

The tank on my 02 STi doesn't seem that big, it does about 200 miles on a tank and only costs £45 to fill.

I did work it out with exact figure the other day and I was shocked, pleasently shock, the old stead is doing 26mpg on normal driving, not driving like a nancy but normal driving

Know what you mean about the ST24, nothing that special i know but i had mine years and it never missed a beat, the v6 was so smooth and it was just a great all round car. The wife still has it, wherever the hell she is now. B**CH.

Lot of wrongs in that advert

Pretty sure it's not an Apexi filter, got one on mine and it looks nowt like that.

Full HKS Nur Spec Exhaust - WTF Blitz make the Nur Spec and again got one on mine, the exhaust on that car isn't a Nur Spec.

Blitz dump valve - Looks like a Bailey dump valve to me.

Get shot of them rear lights too, make it your first mod

At the end of the day it's whether you're happy with it that's all that matters
