You're indicates you maybe joking, but if not, you're wrong. Its not a fake. And you don't need earplugs to sit under a landing 747. Trust me, I do it regularly and my hearing is fine.
St Maarten is a well known spotters paradise, for shots like the one in the 1st post.

The runway in Gibraltar is uphill from each threshold to the centre so you cant see the crossing or the second half of the runway as you are rolling uphill on the first bit. The first time you land there it makes you hit the brakes hard since you dont know how much runway you have left until you get to the top of the hill!

Would it not be nearly as bad on landing though as wouldn't the engines would be nearly idling, unlesss the pilot had to abort the landing? Still bloody loud though!

think the shortest one was down and off at the first turn out,

I have not seen Luxembourg.
I still reckon that the Typhoon is the loudest and most painful to listen to on takeoff. Could not believe it when I watched it at Waddington last year.
