Got my Prodrive WRX from them in May, on the whole very impressed with the service I received and the way I was treated, didn't turn up until 10mins before closing and they quite happily stayed open until almost 7, while I was making my mind up which one to get, all with no pressure to buy.

Car is every bit as good as they said it was, very friendly, will definatley be going back for an Sti next year.

As they were filling out the receipt they noticed I lived in Stockport and recomended Prosport for my servicing as they were cheaper and closer than themselves.

Maybe the OP is on about a thread started by me 2 and a half years ago. A bit strange that a new member concens themselves about such an old post

Anyhow, it would have saved Walkers a lot of money (through reputation and lost sales) if they'd paid the balance of my deposit back and treated me fair once I had the engineers report back on their 'amazing' 22b.

The car was a total shocker and condemned 'as the worse 22b' the inspector ever saw. He valued the car at around 10k IIRC.

All I can say is read the report in the link and see if this corresponds with a car described as 'an amazing car'.

Default So good or bad ?

I know this seems to be an old thread, I have a friend in work who likes the place but a lot of comments on here say otherwise.

I was thinking about going there to get some mud flaps bought/fitted, possibly a Bov and eventually a full exhaust system, also like to find somewhere in this area (Cheshire) that would be friendly enough to pass the full exhaust system on emissions

So do I go there or don't i ?

Thanks

Bought both my Imprezas from GW. Never had any problems. Cars they sell do tend to be a little over-priced, but they always offer very good part-ex values (in my experience).

If you do take it to be serviced at GW only let Luke touch it ( if he still working there)

Went there today to buy a Hawk STi with a friend and they wouldn't let us test drive it, said you can only drive it if you are buying the car. Hahaha, walked out straight away with the 10k in our pockets, sale lost.

Also, lol at "only let Luke touch it" Luke has worked on my car before he went to GW and my exhaust came apart after he just fitted it, amongst other cowboy work done to the car.

Speaking as bean head, 5 years back they changed my cambelt shaft seal and belt. The cost £300. They not cheap. Now I found out how straight forward it is to DIY I know I was a bean head.

I bought a 2005 Blob STI from them and it was one of the best cars I've ever had.

And then over a year later sold it for more than I paid...

I know, sorry.

GW were one of the dealers I rang when I was looking and both the cars I was interested in had been sold.

It's an annoyance of mine, failing to keep ads up to date.

I'm certainly not in a position to make any other comments about them.
