Got to respect that build. :

Although strange engine choice...a blown or turbo charged LS1 or LS2 would drop in a hell of alot easier and bolt straight up to some meaty Tremec transmissions (as the floorpan was designed to accomodate LSx engines and GM 'boxs). And if done right, will hold up to similar horsepower (well, I''ve seen 1200bhp advertised for a ready to go crate engine ).

Yes it is.. In essence its the SAME block and head just with a different crank/pistons and some head work.. Thats like having your EJ20 block converted to a 2.2 long stroke and saying its a completely different engine

I was sitting in the middle lane on the M5 (might have been M4) doing about 70'ish yesterday, and one of these beauties pulled up next to me in the outside lane, slowed down and then nailed it... The car absolutely flew off - really impressed with how it took off at that kind of speed.

First one I've seen for many many years. Shame there was too much traffic to have a play with it

It's a different block Davey !!! OK, so it's based on the GSi 24v (C30SE) block but it is definately a different casting.

The block has some extra webbing and holes for the oil spray bar for the pistons.. Oh and 3.6 cast on the side of the block.. So in essence its the same block, yes they did not take a finished C30SE block and re-finish it but you cant really say they are very different Very, very minor changes to the original casting...

The original poster said the engine is NOTHING like the 3.0 24v lump which is not true... At a glance yes they look very different as the rocker covers, and plenum are very different and there are two throttle bodies.

It's a bit like comparing a GM LS2 and a LQ9, same engine design...but different

If they were selling for as little as £2k then all the cheap chavs would have them by now.
