There seems to be a few confirmations though..

Telegraph has interviewed his agentand the story on their website is to appear in print tomorrow (hence the 'yesterday' refs)

Also there's people on various forums who know the family (rally forums, rally oragnisers etc) confirming it's Colin, his son and 2 others.

Truely gutted

Why don't you lot stop bitching and have a two-minute silence for the two people that lost their lives today, whether it was Colin or not.

News filtering through from the motorsport boys on Pistonheads is that it was Colin and his son

Yes...a great loss to the rallying world but an unmeasurable loss to the McCrae family if true

If it is you, then i gather that you cant read ? I live 5 miles from Colins place, i am friendly with his brother & was up at the site & couldnt get near the place & Alistair's phone is off & I am disrespectful of the situation.

You need to take a long hard look at yourself. I am reporting you to the moderating team for abuse of the infraction system.

Again have some respect for the McRae family.

A tragedy indeed.
It has been confirmed by a very reputable source over on British Rally Forum that Colin McRae has been killed.

His brother Alistair has been reported being in Australia at present.
Condolences to all concerned.
Another rallying legend sadly gone..........RIP.

I've just heard that the other person on board the helicopter was Colin's son Jonnie.

I cannot say how true this is, but if it is then it is indeed true, it's a huge loss for the Mcrae family.
