My girlfriend (now my wife of 5 years) was 17 when we started dating... I was 31....
Does this mean I'm a predator? Should I be ashamed? Am I doing wrong in peoples eyes?

We had a rogue distant cousin in the family. He was 69 and married an 18 year old 
He was virtually ostracised and his grown up kids weren't overly amused.
Odd thing is they seemed very happy together - I suppose they both achieved what they wanted

I think the fact that you may become smitten with this young girl that your heart will rule over your head into thinking that she is fully developed mentally

nearly pissed meself Actually I have lied. I just remembered now that I did **** a 16yr old once when I was 18. However she was dating a 22 year old at the time who cheated on her with some prozzies apparently so I just helped her get her own back on him by sticking it in her. However going by how loose her minge was Id say she was a hell of alot more experienced than me. Could hardly feel anything on my todger, her mini moo was like the blackwall tunnel lol. Needless to say I didnt meet her ever again after that.
