Who checks their cars over once the missus has driven it!!
#31
My missus is insured but has never sat behind the wheel...
she is scared... and it is only a UK 5door Turbo...
I am sure she will some time but I wouldn't inspect it afterwards as she'd tell me if she dented it... have to admit I'd be nervous if she drove it..
ho ho JGM

Well you have to check these things man, cos otherwise the performance of our scoobys will diteriate and may, if they drive it more than you do soup it down and even add more saftey features and also will take out the turbo charger noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wife uses the STI 4 during the week for shopping/school runs... This leaves me the w/e to clean the ****e out of it and get a few miles behind the wheel...
Never amazes me how much crap a woman and two kids can leave in a car in the space of five days, for god sake it's only for going from A to B in.. You'd think they'd lived in it for five days the state I get it back in on a Sat morn...
Reason for her using it during the week ?? Well it's either the STI or the old Audi 80 I leave at the train station every morning on the way to work - no choice really.

Well, what can I say?
I wouldn`t want to start another episode of `UK300 interactive soap`so will only post this to bring back to the top.
Oooh, but I will tell you that Peter has hidden the spare set of keys so I can`t take it out for a crafty drive anyway.
Joan.

Women belong in the Kitchen Start giving them car's or let them drive your's. I THINK NOT
I think I better duck for cover now
I have to stick with this stand point or it going to cost me (A car for er in doors) Anyway since when does a kitchen applience drive
ONLY JOKING GIRLS HONEST. I love women it's those little thing you do like washing, Ironing, Making Meals and cleaning. I would be lost without one..... O I know that's going to hurt
All the best

Just to put a different slant on the matters, I drove my partners car, up to my parents on boxing day, and just a little over half way, I blow the head gasget. Don't think a 1 litre UNO is meant to do 90 on the motorway. Did I get it in the neck for that? Yes and then some.

Had a drink the other night so the Mrs drove home. How many times have you had to say, wait, let it warm up before using the turbo. Although i feel sorry for her cos i know she gets nervous sat next to me. She was trying to get into reverse at 60mph!
Should let her drive it more often i suppose.

The day I bought my scoob, I brought my better half in the hopes she would like it and not give me so much grief about 2k for insurance. Salesman took us for a 20 minute spin around town and out into the country. He asked if I would like a drive. I offered first go to her. He climbed in the back. She asked if it was warmed up enough to try it out a bit. He said yeah fine - go ahead give it a good blast with a big silly grin on his face. Redline redline redline jump - airborne all 4 wheels off the ground. When I had stopped bouncing about the passenger seat I looked round and he was a strange shade of green. When she asked if she could try that again he was nearly in tears

CORRECT Scoobabe, its much better seeing a young lady sitting behind the wheel of a powerfull car than a 1.8D Mondeo

Interesting topic
A while ago the other half found a big scrape down my rear spoiler, I had a look and sure enough there it was. It wasn't mine and I hadn't noticed it the previous day when I'd taken the car out. He then concluded that a woman must've hit it when reversing out of a car park then just driven off. He went into one and went on and on about useless people who can't drive in car parks etc etc.
After he'd gone out I removed the 'scratch' with polish, no damage done, thank god
Later when he came home I went out to investigate his car (unbeknown to him - until he reads this - something I do on a regular basis ) Sure enough there it was, a bloody huge scrape all down the front and side of his front spoiler which matched mine perfectly.
He'd hit my car whilst reversing out of the drive on his way to work that morning and hadn't even realised he'd done it!! So the outcome of this is that any time a delicate reversing type manouevre has to be performed I do it, it's safer and less expensive that way

Joan? Get that life insurance sorted for Pete and make sure everything goes to you in his will, you may be benefiting soon if he keeps up with those comments
Either that or our plan goes ahead for his credit cards etc

I let my Alex have a go on an industrial estate - i really wanted to hear it from the outside so i let her on her own round a block. Thought I wouldn't hear it too loud ....6000rpm, once, twice, three.....ahhhh
Did sound kinda nice though. Says her Corsa Sport 1.6 16v is getting too slow for her - she is saving for a TT - she is only 22!

I am thinking of having special grab rails added to the sides of the passenger seat and a pretend brake pedal for the passenger footwell for when Deb is driving! I'm ruining the sides of the seats trying to get a grip and I'm sure I'm denting the floor panic braking. I also keep my eyes closed and pretend I can't hear the red lined engine. (Sorry Deb, I know you know what you're doing I'm a bad passenger!).
3 days to go and she gets her own, can't wait....

My wife has to drive my Wagon - she can't get the kids in her car to take them to school. She drives my Scoob more than me - and gets much worse fuel consumption than I do (not just because she drives it round town a lot). Don't bother checking it over now, because I know there will be crisp crumbs squashed into the seats, the driver's seat will be right up against the wheel (but she's taller than me, how can that be right?) and it may be covered in wild animal dung because she takes it to the blooming Safari Park...
I get the last laugh though - because I get to drive her brand new Elise more than she does
As for insurance - it's 10% more to have my wife insured on either Scoob or Elise than just me. Both full NCB, I'm 28 and she's 38. Blooming high-risk females
