Yep, these guys really know what they are talking about and no hard sell.

Les's Cycles Canvey Island Essex United Kingdom - Bicycles and Accessories

The website may not look much but the guys in the shop are proper cycle enthusiasts and really know their stuff. They also carry much more stock than what they show on the website.

Official dealers for Scott and Marin among others......would highly recommend them!

Glad you were happy with the service mate. After shopping about and visited most of the cycle shops in the area, none of them even came close to the service that Les provides.

Hardcore x/c saddle mate, though has just been upgraded to this lovely piece of kit, a Charge Spoon in retro brown

Wasn't a bad bike in it's day, but a bit old now.

Andrea has already told me that i'm not allowed to go and buy a Marin, just cos you have one.

Thorndon Park is ideal mate. It has nice big bridal ways and a few off road trails (very muddy at the moment) although I would recommend spending some time on the bridal paths to get used to the bike.

Aerial view of Thorndon Park. The trails also continue right off the top left of this picture. That's where all the forest is too with the main "off-road" trails

It's a huge park. Don't forget the £2 for the Pay & display!

That is huge, don't think anything out of the pic will be a concern to start with, maybe to the lake and back?

What time guys?

Forecast says it should be dry until about 1200 noon.

How about 10.00 (it is a Sunday! ) in the carpark at Thorndon Park? I'm sure that will give us plenty of time to start off with

Yep, turn off of the A128 into "doggers lane" and then immediately right into the park.

Default Well what an eventfull morning that was ..............

Who was it who said it will be back in the shed after 10 mins ?

Well you was correct , That's where it is now , Looking a little sorry for itself

It all started so well , 5 Mins into the ride a little uphil muddy/ Slippery section , I Give it a little beanz & SNAP !!

Yep i sheared the 10mm Allen key bolt in half & the pedal fell off

So there i'am wheeling it back up the hill i had just rolled down

Get the bike back to Les , Replaces the bolt ( Never seen nothing like that before !! )

So we return home & head down to the sea wall , 10 Mins into the ride & the pedal seems lose again , This time the bolt was still in place & just needed tightning , Though i have no allen key bolt big enough to tighten it

So walk it back again 2 Miles from home this time , Get the jet wash out & clean it / Dry it / Lube the chain etc ..

Only to notice that both fooking tyres are punctured !!!

What a great start , I Call Les who advises a little threadlock on the bolt ( I Will get an allen key tomm to fit ) With the help of Fozz on the phone i removed both wheels , These will be repaired loccally tommorow

So hopefully i will be back in the saddle on Wednesday

I WILL BE BACK

Sounded like you guys & girl had a great time though
