With the DD you will peak and hold almost identicle boost.
With just a Bleed Valve you will peak about 1.5 to 2 psi above the held boost.
With a Bleed Valve and Dawes, peak and held should be approx the same, as the bleed valve is just there to control spool up time.
If you are running a UK MY96 Standard boost should be about 12psi.

As Standard currently Peaks at 13 PSI then drops to hold 10 PSI.
From what I'd picked up from earlier threads I assumed MY96 would fuel cut off at 15.5 PSI - so peak boost reading on guage of 14.5 PSI (assuming 1 PSI under-read) then dropping to hold around say 11.3 PSI at a guess.
Is this approx correct - or were you assuming holding 14PSI & Peaking higher?

From my experiences with the Stock Boost control solenoid, there is very little difference between Peak and held boost. The same applies to the DD.
Cleaning out the Boost control solenoid with Brake cleaner may help yours with holding boost.
My origional Stock configuration used to pretty much hold about 11-12psi on my gauge with very little deviation.
Only when I fitted a bleed valve did I see differences between peak and held boost of about 1.5psi
Currently my gauge (with Bleed Valve and no DD) peaks at about 15.5psi and holds about 14.5psi (MY94 UK).

How did you guess? To be honest I was pushed into medicine by teachers and parents. Too academic and not sticking to my own guns.
Process control engineering is this month's interest. see http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=63226
I am sure someone would lend you a gauge or plug in their select monitor for you? Nominal charges and all that? I have blagged a few runs FOC on a select monitor now

Fit a t-piece to a pressure source off the manifold somewhere and plug in the gauge. I borrowed Falkland's gauge once for calibrating mine and you can just plug it into a spare port on the manifold of later models, but you may not have this luxury. You can even run the wire to the top of the bonnet and in through the window if it is just temporary, which if you don't go mad with the boost would be at least better than nothing
Quick replies - could be something to do with not being at work this afternoon

What's not being at work got to do with it ????
As John say's us a T-Piece off one of the Manifold hoses, I'll have a look tonight to see which one I used.
If you want it to be backlite, take the lighting power input from the back of one of the switches, I think I used the rear Fog Light switch.
U can get T-Pieces from Halfords, normally on the aisle where all the winderscreen washer jet hoses and pumps are.....
