Yes Tam, his throat was swollen and tender for months, and yes he could hardly speak. Fine now though, just as he was

He was your old school smoker, 40 a day + Capstan Navy Cut then he moved on to liquorice paper rollies, lol

He juiced alot which he says helped, pomegranates, carrot and apple, loads of organic stuff, no crap and a total detox. He told me cancer is just your bodies defence system gone haywire with the old cell division, all he said it needs in many cases is some tlc and a little help from our excellent medical staff. I guess he was keeping his chin up, but hey

My neighbour came through last night with a big bunch of flowers for her indoors and a load of beer for me to cheer us up, I told her not to be daft as I'm gonna be ok, I think I live in the best street ever with the best neighbours ever and I'm part of the best boards ever

Ha ha guys

I got to the hospital today, surgeon says I've got some very good news and some bad Good news is the jobbies aint Cancer (The surgeon himself isn't sure what they are) but I don't need RT or anything, apparently he is going to laser them off, another two operations is apparently all I'll need (gulp, more needles ) The bad news is the CT scan I got for my throat has shown up an aneurism on my brain, so, now I need to wait for a brain surgeon to contact me to see what's to be done... I'm falling to bits

Certainly a mixed bag of news Tam

but the huge positive to take from this is that the aneurism hasn't done away with you yet and the fact that they have got it in time (effectively by accident) means that they caught a ticking time bomb that would have gone unnoticed and done away with you on the sly ....

Now they can get rid of it

Good luck to ya mate

Very true Si. The exact thing happened to an ex work mate/colleague at the beginning of this year and he wasn't much older than me

However thy do now know about it even if it's discomforting for me to know, at least hopefully all should be cool

DW It's more than an MOT I need lol, they should just shoot me now Weird thing is I've never been ill in my life and hardly had a day off work ever, now all this all at once

Default On a bit of a downer tonight!

Got results back from the second set of biopsies today from my surgeon, it seems I have a very rare condition (don't ask me what it's called as I forgot 10 seconds after he told me and probably couldn't spell it anyway ) which means I need at least four more operations in the next couple of months and then the possibility that I may need an operation every year for the rest of my life

Also I have to look forward to my CT scan in Jan and find out what surprises that gives me

For someone who never used the NHS for 20 years, hardly even visiting the docs, I'm sure making up for it now

Ah *********!

Aw Tam, sorry to hear that matey

What sort of operations will you need every year? Will they be taking bits away or just making a few adjustments??

Not really sure tbh, the four ops I'm getting soon is simply because he can't take everything away at once or my vocal cords will heal and weld themselves together meaning I'd loose my voice completely. The future ops will be to remove them if/when anything comes back, apparently they are a begnin (sp) growth which if they were malignant the Radio therapy would have removed once and for all.

One good thing about yesterday is he let me off with the camera down the throat, as I was feeling a bit sick and said to him 'If you use that I WILL puke over you!' He's gonna try and get me in on Friday for the first op providing he has no emergencies in

Cheers
Tam

Not so good mate, do you need surgery to fix it or just antibiotics?

Sorry I don't play golf, but after watching Happy Gilmore last night I might take it up.
