went to santa pod on a RYB with a daft image of being mechanically sympathetic, show someone a strip with some lights and all that goes out the window
my best run i was concentrating so hard on the lights i forgot if i had put it in gear! was holding about 5k and just let the clutch go, luckily was in gear, nearly snapped my head off and went off like a bullet
one thing for classic to newage guys, does launching in the newage seem more brutal to you? ok i came from a uk turbo (with 270bhp) to my sti, but the sti seems to smash you into the back of the seat the few times i've tried it

I remember when I was seventeen and the old man let me and my brother take his Opel Manta GT out for the first time, I tried a 7500rpm side step the clutch launch, result burnt back tires and throttle stuck wide open, no more car driving for several months!!! Good fun at the time though.

Done it once but won't make a habit out of it - great fun though. Strangely it cured my 'clutch judder from cold' problem that is endemic with these cars - clutch is smooth as anything since my burnout over a year ago.
