10no. blinds in all (once counted and measured). total was £2,500 but with the "discounts" was £1,500. I was given a "50% discount voucher" by someone on the thomas sanderson stand at the homebuilding and renovating show and when i produced this, after the quote, the rep said "that comes straight out of my pocket, so i;d only be willing to do that deal if you signed up tonight"

still not entirely sure what to do, but on principle i said no for the moment due to his tactics. i wasn't too put off by the pricing (and i have nothing to compare this to), but thought i'd post the outcome here as we discussed it beforehand

Well i did say it would be between 1000-1500 quid, this aint bad to be honest for really good quality blinds.

go for it only if you are happy with the quality

*what blinds were they mate?*

you did, hence why i wasn't too shocked or excited when i heard the figure.

not entirely sure what make the blinds were, but they were the reinforced solar reflective material which folds up tight like a folded sheet of paper with a little plastic handle at the bottom in the middle. they clip/screw onto the glazing bead at the top of the window...as you can tell, accurate descriptions are a particular specality of mine

i know what you mean, but i don't quite look at it like that. i'm too sceptical i expect!! for instance, price and value are not always related - in my industry it is not unusual for a seller to raise a price in order to offer a discount which makes the deal look attractive. i'm not really influenced by the "discount" side of things, but overall i think i'm now leaning towards placing the order.

at the end of the day, £1,500 on decent blinds which;
1. won't look out of place on the windows/doors as they'll fit neatly onto the beading rather than hanging from the ring beam above
2. will still enable us to open the doors and windows without flapping in the wind or becoming a child hazard/climbing attraction and;
3. will offer some level of increased insulation...
...is probably a reasonable sum.
hmm
