Good luck with the dog mate, and remember to become Alpha from day 1![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I see they also have a malamute site at About Us

Totally different breed.
Mals grow to 45-60kg,
![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Tuvaaq's father is something in the region of 50kg+ so he has scope to match or supass that weight.

A quote from the site; "Dief is 29 inches to his withers and when i was looking at a book the malamute is only meant to be 27-28 inches to the withers and he's still got 13 months of growing."
No **** Sherlock!!
![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Breed standards are breed standards and cross breeding for cosmetic/designer reasons aren't the best.
I'd suggest you think carefully as this crossbreed won't come with any health history and effectively you'll become a beta tester for potentially the Adams family dog of the dog world.
It says they will be keeping records but how far do the existing records go back?

It's this type of breeding that makes me suspicious. Seriously, how can anybody take 2 breeds and put them together because somebody has asked for one of the breeds but with blue eyes from the other breed, and think they are doing the right thing!!

Dude, I can only hope all works out for you with this hybrid. They can be awesome, but if ethics mean anything, im not impressed by them.
Like I say, when you hand over that wad of hard earned cash, make sure you see hip and eye scores for BOTH parents. DOB for both, the pup in perfect condition, happy playing about etc. And most of all make sure you are there for a while to allow a little bond to start, to see the lil fella in action and good health for a while.
We were at Tuvaurat for about 3-4 hours before finally leaving. Maybe a little excessive, but like to know there is nothing wrong.

They are not ethical breeders and you would be best to keep your money and find another breeder. Please dont fund them. I'm not a breeder so it makes very little difference to me either way, but I personally know of many pups from this kennels that have been seriously ill, some have had to be PTS and it's just not worth it. There is a Malamute forum, ask for advice before proceeding, I am deadly serious about this.
Why would you want a Huskamute anyway. No records have been kept and the KC have already replied several times to many people enquiring that because they are too close to both breeds and serve no purpose and have not been created responsibly (by health testing all stock) they will NEVER be recognised, they are just a designer dog to make money.
Please if you listed to nothing I say, just listed to this bit ; Don't fund a puppy farmer, you WILL regret it !

Straight and to the point if nothing else ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Hope the forum gets looked at before heading off to pick the pup up tomorrow. If not, I hope all works out for the best as I say.
Was not impressed by the line on the website that says WHY they started breeding them. I might ask if they can get me a 5 legged Akita... Might be worth starting to breed them eh. Stable when cocking leg etc.....
Serious though, the site paints a bleak picture for people who are apparently serious about the 2 breeds. But so little info on their showing. In fact NO info on their showing. Even the smallest breeders of Mals show.

Well I dont know about a 5 legged akita but they do cross malamutes with akitas too (Akitamute), as advertised on ad-trader and funnily there is an ex breeding Akitamute in their local rescue centre, many tears (but it only has 4 legs !). Nice to know that the old ex breeding dogs are well cared for eh ??
Nice to see at that rescue they have a Huskamute too, that has never been on a lead, never been socialised with humans and never been walked ! So much for all their dogs being socialised and friendly !
![Cuckoo](images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)
As for showing, they dont show and so could not guarantee their dogs conformation etc. even though they advertise show dogs
![Whatever Anim](images/smilies/Whatever_anim.gif)
To the person buying one of their pups, a question for you ;
If you want a decent car, you would buy a car that had all its paperwork and everything was spot on !
You wouldnt go to a dodgy dealer and buy a cut 'n' shut would you ?
What makes you think these breeders are any different ?
The reason so many huskamutes go into rescues is because their owners believe what theyve been told in that huskamutes are better to train, better off lead, easier to handle, smaller than Malamutes etc etc

The attitude says "farm", the website says "farm" and the research says..... "farm"
![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Also... Artic Wolves, not to be confused with the recognised breeder Artic Wolf

When in fact NOBODY knows what's going to come out becayse they are bred unscrupulously, and have no breed standard, so nothing is set in stone how they will be and too many people get the opposite and end up with the worst traits of BOTH breeds, so dont believe all the flashiness you hear !

Cant imagine for one second a Huskamute would be easier to train. Would think harder if anything, but like you say its all up in the air with a cross like that.

Absolutely. Their actual breeders affix is Engbull, but when they realised people were calling the kennel club to make complaints they started using a name that the kennel club would recommend ie, Articwolves, which sounds the same as Articwolfs kennels
Just had another look at their site too, and noticed they are apparently starting their own 'working' club to work the dogs in harness
As their dogs are not socialised, never had a collar or lead on, never exercised and never been trained in even basic obedience, how on earth to they expect to work their dogs in harness, which is a strict discipline ?? ![Cuckoo](images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)

Only hope either we are all wrong, or the purchase does not go ahead.

lol stats online are compiled with some knowledge, but with dogs/bitches its hard to tell.
Mals can range from 70lbs -140lbs but there are some averages in the middle somewhere
![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
But in general as originally stated, Mals "tend" to be a slightly bigger breed than GSD's hence Tuvaaq being so much bigger. Also the fact he is a dog and yours is a bitch
