I had to kill a snake when in the desert.
I didn't give a damn if it was poisonous or not (the region has 6 different types of deadly snake though), it wasn't staying under my vehicle.
For the record, I killed it with a very very long pole.

It could even be an Aldrovandi Rock Python. We had one as a Squadron mascot when I was on No 88 Squadron. His name was Fred. He used to go for flights in the Canberras and achieved the honourable rank of Squadron Leader!
He used to come to all our parties and his favourite trick was to go down ladies dresses! They used to love it really.

I still would have bricked it.
A slow worm wriggled across our lawn towards me the other day when I was mowing and even that made me leap like a little girl.
Two feet from treading on a king brown snake in Oz - Think my pulse must have hit about 300bpm for a while!!
