The question of cost is important. Would I, for example, be able to use it without paying extra? That is going to get you a "yes, it's a great idea", or "no, I think it's a flinking rubbish idea" answer from me.
Alot of the fun people on here haven't paid a penny.

Great idea but just a couple of things.
To work, it would :
1. Have to be free IMHO - those who have no respect for Scoobynet's T&Cs certainly aren't going to pay for a service they already use (if you get my meaning).
The issue of it being an area where people can say what they really mean - ie to get a rise out of somebody else. I don't see people paying for this facility, myself.
Plus surely that's just pandering to the few who ruin the whole community. IMHO, you and the mods set a very high standard of what you want this website to be like. I can see that you're trying find a middle ground to keep everybody happy. In reality, this rarely happens, but I wholeheartedly support anything to improve Scoobynet.
IMHO, rather than keep the minority whingers happy, continue with the zero tolerance towards trouble-makers. I'm guessing it's a tough battle, but surely it's worth it in the end.....

Yeah, but the trouble makers are fun! The banter on here is great at times, but now half the people who make it a fun place have been banned by people who can't take a joke.

Sounds like a good idea to me, but you should not have to pay extra to use it. Those who have already paid something to SN have shown their contribution and commitment to the site. There should be no risk of abusive of that section of the forum from people who have already paid.
Could be fun, lets give it a whirl
Oh, and can I have a BFG instead of a shotgun, I don't like the chance of missing

Stop trying to cater for the pathetic schoolboys who post childish filth. Just sling them off the board and keep some reputation going for SN.
Seems also that it would be an easy opt out for mods - anything slightly controversial - which I say gives a buzz to the board - would be moved over.

sounds like a good idea in principle but what would happen in this no holds barred forum if some one who did pay the 5 quid entrance fee and then started to take offence to what was said in there? Some people will go out of their way to screw things up for the normal members of society that can think for themsleves, press over if they don't like what is on tv or read another thread if they don't like what is being said rather than complain about it??
This is not a trolling post I am just curious as I would interested in such a forrm if it was setup.

maybe im just cynical, but isnt this another 'cash-cow' for the coffers at Scooby Towers? theres a fair few in the site that would pay to go no-holds-barred... but why (again) does it cost yet another fiver??

Pretty sad if you feel you need to pay money just to shout abuse at people.
Life is real, there are many things in it that you may not like but that's pretty tough.
Why should it all be shoved out of sight into another room?
Get a grip on NSR, remove the illegal stuff and let the board get on with it.

Sounds good - You could put a disclaimer on it saying "Enter at your own risk" Then you could call it something like "The Kermit the Frog and Friends forum"

Well it's nice to see that you now concede there is a need to replace normal, unfettered interaction on this site... however I have a better solution:
1) Abolish infractions
2) Remove non-contributing mods and replace with new blood
3) Re-empower mods
4) Publish new policy: 'If you don't agree with what someone posts then ignore it or, if you don't have the discipline to do this, add them to your ignore list'.
That should take us back to circa 2002 when men were men and webclowns weren't meddling megalomaniacs.
