Dear ynf1golf,

No, all these have orange rear lenses as standard.

- jackbauer555

Dear jackbauer555,

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. ALL STI Version 3 onwards had the clear lights as standard.

I am a Subaru owners club member and have had 8 Imprezas myself since 1999. I know what specification came as standard and they certainly didn't have orange indicators on the rear lenses.

I have a STI v2 RA and they were the last to be fitted with the orange.

I want a newer RA for a daily driver as due to the modifications that I have done, it is now undriveable as a daily driver due to circa 500 lb/ft, especially so in winter.

- ynf1golf

Dear ynf1golf,

No, I have had many STI, Type R & V Ltds, & they all have orange indicarors. If you want to change them to clear you can of course do so.

No, I will not give this out for security reasond. I don't see what you need it. You can't check history from a chassis number. If you win the auction, you can have it then.

Good luck selling that phony heap....!

Just got this also. I asked if I could have it so I could check the model against it.

The VIN number will only tell you the model, year etc. It will not tell you the history of the car!! I can only assume you are a messer.

Correct sir!!

I've gave him a good luck, enough from me, he is not playing and obviously paranoid about what he has for sale..

The VIN number? JDM cars only have a short chassis number, not a 17 character VIN... The chassis number wont tell you anything though; you need the applied model number. It looks like it is what he says, but I wouldnt touch it with a bargepoll. Hes heading for a slap, isnt he?

From the VIN number you can trace its true model.

No you cant Dan. The Chassis number consists of a series defining prefix (GC8 in this case) and a serially derived identifying number.

You can only ascertain the model from the Applied Model Number. Japanese cars do not have a 17 character VIN; as I have already stated.

Trust me, Im a doctor.

What a complete gimp.
Yes, it does look like a v-limited but thats it. With nothing to hide, why won't he supply the gc8 model code???

Here is a good place to start (Section 2.1.1 Japanese Production Runs). These numbers are the Applied Model Numbers: they do start either GC8 or GF8 though, rather like JDM chassis numbers.

"I just took it out of my garage for the 1st time in weeks, & noticed a crack in the windscreen about 10 inches long in the top passenger corner."

Erm, how do you NOT notice a 10" crack in the windscreen?
