If she really was doing 80mph, then it looks like she got of kinda lightly, the car didnt look that bad really ![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
Still, surly you should of seen a stationary car before she did, and tried some of evasive action a little sooner, having said that, its easy to judge sat in front of a PC, sure it happened very quick from where she was sat

well, yes,if ya cambelt snaps, clutch in, ur doing 70 - 80 anyway and you coast and indicate to the hard shoulder, what **** would slam he`s brakes on or just stop in lane 3 ????
also, his dif or gearbox doesnt look like it locked up as theres no skid marks at all on the road behind him.
conclusion,he`s an idiot, she`s an unfortunate idiot

TWO things :-
1 - Risk life to move car I have a 4 year old to think about!
2 - She hit the car so shes driving above her ability ie too fast for the road or herself
Don't get me wrong I would try a get my car to the hard sholder and get my friend's family up the verge over the fence..... but the car is last on my list!!

Basic principal of driving:
The woman in the merc didn't.
Always ensure that you can stop comfortably, on your own side of the road, within the distance that you know to be clear

So you think it's a good idea to push a car across 3 lanes of traffic if your car breaks down in the overtaking lanes of a motorway

To be fair i'd be doing both.
1. Get out of car (leave hazards flashing - what else can you do?) and either into central reservation (or as in this case where the road didn't seem that busy) over to the hard shoulder
2. Call cops
3. Film it in case of numpties
Saw some poor lass the other week buried in the central reservation on the M1, older corsa and she was still in it panicing, must have just happened but we were on other carriageway on a bike so nothing i could really do about it.
The next car along in that lane though was slowing with the hazards on as was the one behind it so i'd put that down as decent observation on their part.

It didn't just stop dead in a split second did it? I meant the way the car was pointing, they didn't steer it either way barrier or toward the shoulder.

What if they only just turned the camera on, to show their mates they had broken down on the motorway when this happened?
Amazing what YOU can assume from a grainy bit of video footage.
Maybe they rear ended someone and damaged the car, and the other car was on the hard shoulder?

i cant beleive the idiots that would park a broken down car in lane 3 and GET OUT AND RUN TO THE HARD SHOULDER, MY GOD MEN !!!!!!!!!!
idiots.
if lane 3 was stationery and the car cut out,a very long shot but still valid, its feasable to say lane 1 and 2 were also stationery,so yes,i would get out and tell the other cars that were STATIONERY that i have broken down, they DONT move when their lane is emptying and the car can be moved.
im surprised he made it across 3 lanes without being tvvatted by the fast moving traffic, all with camera in hand too, hang on,motor broken down, what do i need,me camera,of course.
the reaction of him the instant it happens sums it up really.
