Hi, stay away from any Mitsi, with the 2.5td engine as it will be dreadfully slow ( same when it's chipped too ). My brother had the 2.8td version and the radiator blocked itself so after that you can guess what happened. This maybe a one-off you have been warned.

Nathan.

The 2.8TD is the one to buy if going diesel, 138bhp and 230lbft, 0-60 17.3 secs. Not great buy todays standards but they are usually reliable if serviced correctly.

Cheers

I did get the 3.0 V6 Petrol Auto on Sunday, the one in the pic I posted

Mpg wise there is bugger all between the 2.8TD and 3.0 V6 and diesel is dearer at the pump

plus it was a lot cheaper to buy than the diesel variety, as the guy selling it told me he wished it was a diesel as he would have got at least another 500-1000 for it, just for being diesel

Its not a bad motor, just got to remember its big and has wide wheels (265 tyres)

There are two types of 2.8, one with the electronic fuel pump, one with the mechanical. Electric one is better for mpg / and performance, but doesnt run on veg oil too well.

My 2.8 is the mechanical pump, and I run it on 50& veg oil from tesco's. So, at 53p a litre, the reason to go diesel, instead of petrol is obvious.

Ive had petrol and diesel pajeros, and depsite people saying that there isnt much in it, regarding mpg, there bloody well is :-) However, both cars are heavy trucks, so if you looking for good mpg, by a diesel skoda.

By running on veg oil, with the costs etc, I get about 37 mpg. Easy to use, just go to tesco's, buy the blue labelled `veg oil` 3 litre bottles, pour into your tank. In winter, 70:30 diesel to oil, as in the cold veg oil thickens. In the summer, I run 50:50.

I use my pajero every day, do 100 miles a day, ok, not fast, but high up, travels at 90, get in the snow, and great for jumping up curbs, over roundabouts, to beat the traffic.

Wont even go down the number of times Ive shagged in it too :-) aka LWB, blackened out rear windows ! :-) perfect love machine.

Do you use the 4 wheel drive for the snow ?, I dont think I will ever use the 4 wheel drive unless I want to drive home through the fields if the motorway gets bad

I found out yesterday too that all the rear seats fold down to make a double bed
