Andy f. what would you advise as to the best set up for 400bhp 400lb to get full boost as early as poss and hang on for as long as poss on a v7 sti (turbo injectors, headers, exhaust, induction etc.) also is it possible to get theese sort of figures with a mot legal sports cat in the system somewhere?
thanks dean.
thanks dean.

The car can be mapped to have the turbo coming in as hard or gradual as you like. There is an 8x8 table of throttle position against RPM Vs target boost, so if when you apply 1/2 throttle, if you only want 1/2 boost, thats what you can have.
Usually they are mapped to come in as soon as possible but it doesn't need to be that way.
I'll send you some power graphs of VF35 V 20G on a new age Sti.

Hi Andy,
Yes, I think you did that for me on the WIFE map, which I actually prefer to drive the car on but as we/you mapped it to 0.9bar it doesn't have the go up top.
I'm kinda thinking that the car will go pretty similar to how it goes on the wife map but it will pull a lot stronger after 3200-3400 and then pull like hell from 4000+rpm and 360+lbs/ft with more power.
My old Celica GT4 ST205 drove exactly like I want the Impreza to. The Impreza is a quicker car but the Celica felt faster as it continously gained torque and then power, smoothly and no sudden kick, right the the redline.
I'm reckoning with the AFP5-20G, it will make the Impreza have a similar power delivery of the Celica but more of it, lots more
Thanks for the over lay charts Andy, Hope you dont mind me posting them for other to see as it shows very well the differance between the VF35 & the AFP5-20G.
For reference sake these are from the same spec car before and after the AFP5-20G was fit. Cars were newage STi with AVCS (working I guess ) origanal TMIC, Decat and an APS CAI, thats it. Andy told me these are pretty average results from both turbos as he's seen more from both but he's also seen less from both also.
I think if Andy could extract 381hp and 351lbs/ft torque from mine with the AFP5-20G fitted, even with the slower spool over the VF35, it no later at spooling, I think I'd be a rather happy bunny
Thanks for the email/info/charts Andy and again, hope you dont mind me sharing this information.
Cheers,
Nick.

I've got an MD321T going on mine in a couple of weeks, along with Perrin ELH ceramic coated headers. APS Up pipe, APS TMIC and Samco inlet hose.
This is on a UK 03 Sti with 2.5 APi built engine with forged pistons.
What do you guys think in terms of spool and boost ? Not so interested in BHP/torque numbers although hope to see 400+ of both but more interested in how much lag and low down torque it will produce.
Will be interesting to compare !
Great thread btw..
