newage engine is better than the classic
newage engines also have dual cam Variable Timing
the 2008 Engine has quad cam Variable Timing

IIRC

Simply changing the horrible rear lights would make a big improvement.

Sti version is growing on me(a little bit), I think most new cars are looking very different to what we are used to. Only have look at the Seat Leon, Civic Type R, there all big bubbly shapes, so I guess the new scooby will fit in.

2008 They fitted the Silver, Lexi, Chav, Gay rear lights ... everyone in the UK said they were

2009 perhaps there just going for 4 in a Row

IMHO

Bar fron the rear light I like it I have been promised some other Picture very soon

A quick upshot of Differences between JDM & UK/EU (R/Hand drive) below

JDM 2.0ltr better engine, higher Rev's (cheaper Tax) UK 2.5ltr

JDM 13:1 quick Rack UK 15:1 Rack

JDM gets Equal lenth exhaust manifold UK Cast

JDM Bridgestone UK Dunlop

JDM Seats(cloth &Tricot) UK(leather alcantara)
Recardo's optional extras on both UK & JDM

JDM steer wheel audio controls optional UK Standard

USA gets folding mirrors everywhere else non-folding. USA, Japan and UK Heated mirrors is an optional extra

JDMs Headlamp washers and levellers are optional UK STD

IIRC

Tony

The more i look the more the UK model appeals.

I understand the 2.0ltr Twin Scroll maybe the stronger engine but it seems in every other area the UK car will be higher spec.

Just over a week to go until the launch and then we will get price levels and hopefully final spec details from both the UK dealers and the JDM importers.

Going off what i have seen i think the JDM guys are going to have to sharpen there pencils to get the business

Mabe not as clear cut as you may think

JDM winning points

JDM 2.0ltr better engine, higher Rev's (cheaper Tax) UK 2.5ltr

JDM 13:1 quick Rack UK 15:1 Rack

JDM gets Equal lenth exhaust manifold UK Cast

UK winning points

JDM Seats(cloth &Tricot) UK (leather alcantara) Recardo seats are optional extras for both JDM & UK

JDM steer wheel audio controls optional UK Standard

JDMs Headlamp washers and levellers are optional UK Standard

Possible advantage if Front bumper is replaced otherwise 3 all,

but I prefer the JDM 3 as the "UK! winning points are also JDM optional extras but the JDM winning points are not optional extas for UK's

IMHO

Tony

I had a little play and came up with this:

Which to my mind de-clutters the front end considerably

Its ironic that there would be plenty of buyers for nice red aftermarket rear clusters to replace the Lexarse style standard ones. How times change! Front grill does need changing too.

Perfect oppertunity to stop peeps moaning about the "UK" car being a waterdown JDM version. Should have been 2.0ltr 8Krpm

Maybe designed for "Japaneese Taste"

It's down to the new Euro emissions regs. The 2.5 meets the regulation requirements, the 2.0 would need expensive changes. I'm really optimistic about the future of the MY08 model. The STI is already looking to be an impressive car. I'll be waiting for an exclusive limited ed model to appear before I make my order.

There are two special Editions being shown at Toyko the Impreza "BEAMS" and Legacy Outback "Urban" These are IIRC for the JDM market though and only hav cosmetic modifications.

"BEAMS" is a popular japanese boutique/shop and has special colors and equipment selection and the Legacy Outback Urban selection special lightening red color and silver accessaries

All shall be revealled on Friday 26th Oct

It looks like a Fiat Stilo from behind and as for that tacky red ring round the wheels!!!!!

Sorry but it is horrible! may look better in the flesh but I doubt it.
