I remember the review of the 996 GT3 II - they went on about how fantastic it was - 5 stars.
When the new 997 came out they then referred to the brilliant but seriously flawed 996 GT3. Hmmmmmm?!
It is not really a review magazine though - more mightly metal ****

In the past they have always had the odd one every few months. Three in one magazine is a weak excuse for revenue over editorial in my opinion.
In the industry one of the measures of quality is the ratio of editorial to ad pages. IIRC evo made a point of having the best ratio in an editorial only a couple of years ago...

Magazine publishing is having a difficult time (and websites like this one don't help ) and they will use any which way they can to get revenue. They're not being greedy. And if Evo has changed printers and paper then there is only one reason for that - reduced costs.
Or would you rather have cheaper editorial, another 50p on the cover price, which would reduce sales, which would make advertising revenue even harder to get, and so the downward spiral is self-perpetuating.
Also, Evo is owned by Dennis Publishing which publishes Maxim which used to make an absolute fortune for the company. Sales of lads' mags have tumbled over recent years, and the monthlies Maxim, FHM and Loaded, have taken a real battering from the weeklies Zoo and Nuts (neither published by Dennis). Consequencies are obvious - Emap plc, the company which publishes Car, Max Power, Land Rover Owner International, Classic Cars and dozens of others from Angling Times to Heat, is up for sale (but only billionaires need apply ).
Richard.
