As said above alot of bikers made their own lanes which according to the highway code is wrong, so if you hit him it's his fault, he is doing the overtaking and depending on the circumstances etc it is at his risk.

was about to say the same, he created his own lane so has liability attached to his actions, it is not as clear cut as all the earlier posts say.

I rode a bike (KTM Duke II) for a couple of years until 6 months ago and have never kicked a wing mirror, let alone kicked one off!
Had I kicked one off I would be unsurprised if said car driver chased me down, knocked me off and gave me a good kicking, which is exactly what I would do to any biker who kicked my wing mirror.
I did once have a biker stop next to me in a traffic jam, pull his visor up and helmet down, gob on my window and speed off, I still don't know why he did it (it was 17 years ago or so) and I was too stunned to perform the aforementioned mowing him down manoeuvre.

There are still grey areas.
1. How fast is crawling? 1mph, 5mph, 10mph?
2. There is a big difference between a car making a u-turn or t-boning a bike and thus moving across lanes and a car moving whithin it's own lane to avoid an obstruction.
Depends how good your lawyer is.
Cheers

Really??
Then again coming from your lot i,m not surprised.......
Back in the 80,,s i was in a similar situation, driving home one night, i was coming down the main road toward the road where i turn right.
the road has a slight bend to the left, and to make things really interesting. There was a lorry stopped right opposite where i turn right, so the traffic was having to overtake the lorry to proceed.
I indicated right, as i wanted to turn right, and to make doubly sure, i stopped dead so the traffic behind me knew my intentions. I checked my mirrors ----clear, and checked the oncoming traffic ------clear.
I proceeded to turn right, only to have eddie kidd drive into my rear door, headbutt my drivers window, and then career off my front wing... his footrest ripping the crap out of both doors....
Then the cheeky ****** comes over and says " Thats the second accident ive had this week" and says "sorry i didnt realise you were turning right (wtf are indicators for !!!) "I havnt been round here before, and i didnt know the road layout!!!
To cut a long story short, plod decided, that despite overtaking a long queue of traffic on the wrong side of the road, & driving into me, & the other driver admitting he was at fault, and not knowing the road, didn't constitute any offence... (under caution & at interview btw)
However following a further letter reminding them of due care and attention, and his blatent admission of guilt, they decided yes he was at fault, and issued a caution for driving with undue care and attention.
Then he & his insurance co failed to attend the smalls claim court, and i recovered all premiums and losses..
