It must have hurt. Putting a needle into a sensitive place like that, surely

yeah it did hurt some. but ive had my tounge pierced twice and also my nipple, and could say they hurt as much...

i had a stage in my youth where at one point i had 11 piercings. only have two now.

oh and ive never liked rock music either or "boshing/moshing" whatever its called. always liked my dance music which people didnt understand as they stereotype piecings tattoos with rock, greebo gothic types.

I never judge people, to each their own, as far as I am concerned. I've got a tattoo, that hurt like stink. The thought of a needle to do a nipple piercing or a piercing in an intimate area, make me turn to jelly. And I've given birth twice

I don't like the sound of that, I once had my tongue done, that was enough for me, sod having a big needle near my **** *shivers* I don't think you are weird or disrespect you for having one, it's just not for me....

to be honest, its all mental. your manhood is your manhood, your ear is your ear in retrospect.

i personally collected the courage to do it over 7 months just before i was 18. went to the piercing parlour one day and though "**** it, im going for it". piercer was a personal friend, still is, and talked me through everything.

basically the method was the following (apologies for the cringers out there - me included lol)
  • drop pants...
  • hang the little fella out for a clean
  • a thin tube is inserted down the "eye" about 1cm and sprayed. this is uber cold and stings a bit as it freezes/numbs the area
  • leave for 15-20 mins until your dude is totally limp and dead
  • piercer then gives another clean
  • the needle is then inserted down the "eye" and pushed out through the skin on one side of where your foreskin attachs your head (also known as your banjo string amoungst others)
  • ring/bar (usually ring though) is attached to end of the needle and pulled back though with it through the newly aquired hole
  • ball/segment popped onto the ring and area cleaned of blood
  • now as your fellas gonna bleed a bit a antiseptic glove is usually taped around your chappy to avoid spoiling your gruds.
now what i did was take it steady home and then clean the fella again after a couple hours of the blood clotting. it hurts a little after when the spray stuff wears off.

but the worst thing is your first wee afterwards. it took me 30 mins to empty my bladder drop by drop. now as urine has a natural antiseptic in itself, its the best possible thing to help heal the piercing. bit of blood on the best sheets the next morning, but weeing was easier. wash it with some warm water in a glass/cup a few times a day and your urine does the rest basically

sex the first time afterwards is...erm... excellent more so than usual.

decided to up the ring size to a 4mm thick one from standard 2.4mm thick. about 25mm in diameter i think.

some call me weird, and i have a habit of getting it out for the girls when i go out drinking, hell even the local plod know of me but there you go. im not chav, insecure, a weirdo (much) but i wanted it doing at the time. love it still 5 odd years later

flame suit on, but there are other more painful things you can have "modified" on your body.

Fiar play to you mate, not something I could do and you won't get flamed or small minded comments out of me.

Personally I think the human body to look at is 1 of the most boring things ever designed. We're all 1 colour, not many animals are. Thats 1 of the reasons I had my tat done.

Well done everyone - just had a corking larf at all of this this. Not a cat in hell's chance of me going anywhere near this - all far too fruitcake for me - but thanks anyway!

By the way, talking of a different kind of performance than usually graces these web pages, it is reported on pop-bitch [great site] by a former flame of lawrence dallallywhatisname, the rugger b*gger, that he shoves his thumb up his own *rse on the vinegar strokes! And a certain Bath player has been hauled up before the RFU for doing the same thing only he does it on the field in the scrum to opposing players!! Just imagine, you're in the second row, locked in tight, nowhere to go ... and some b*st*rd penetrates your ring!!!

I think your explanation of the process of getting an Albert, Chocolate, is excellent...can't fault you for doing it or your reasons behind it I find it much more odd that folk think it's "odd" I suppose most people think that messing around with your ***** has got to be painful........but surely it's your other bits, mis handled, that are more prone to being the source of any pain

At the end of the day, when your ***** is all floppy and useless....why not pierce it

And about the original question...scarification....I have a friend who has the lower part of his arm done. It's been a work in progress and gradually it's become an amazing piece of art work on his arm. Yes, it was painful, apparently, but no more so than a tat would be (his words). The end result is proving to be quite unique and definitely something he's very proud about.....and with no regrets

more pro-active than these disgusting sites that promote cutting yourself with dirty blades etc, like what was recently exposed in the newspapers...

like i said its another form of art, just painful obviously...

That's the thing - my missus and me were looking last night and not counting the weird stuff, with some of the women's stuff we're wincing at the thought of the pain but then going "well, that might look better than a tattoo when it's done."

It's also an important point about the self harm thing - some of the stuff I saw yesterday left me in no doubt it was self harm whereas most were obviously tattoo/piercing extensions sort of things. People going to places to have people do it properly for aesthetic reasons.

oh yeah.... google it

one thing, i would NEVER have done. if i remember correctly an amplang piercing is where a needle is pushed through one side of your head to the other and a bar is usually worn as its a striaght piercing, whereas my prince albert is curved.

for any boffs out there, afaik, the name prince albert came from a gentleman centuries ago who had one done so he could hold his trousers up
seriously, many people followed from what ive heard, although, i havve a £1.50 belt from primark

some people just do, like tribes etc have strange traditions. its a case of being broad minded and accepting others decisions. afterall, me having a ring in my ***** isnt gonna change your life in the slightest is it. this is how i have come to be one of the more broad minded people around

To each their own has always been my motto, however, some things I just can't get my head around

If I met a bloke who had split his old fella, I wouldn't know whether to run a mile or laugh my socks off

I suppose I have a different viewpoint, but I have never seen the point of having tattoos or being pierced with bits hanging out everywhere like a "metal mickey". Some of the descriptions on this thread are really quite alarming. I honestly wonder what is the point of it all! My own personal feelings of course.

its bizarre, i can understand some body mods but to actually 'split' your old boy I think you have to have some underlying issues

les, a valid point put well across. totally understand where you come from.

heres my examples. each of my 6 tattoos means something to me...
  • the man utd crest on my right upper arm. well thats the team ive supported all my life and was my first tattoo. to see mainly what the pain was like and also it wouldnt be something id grow to hate, obviously
  • the gatecrasher lion on my left upper arm. dance music, has, and always will be a major part in my life. the gatecrasher lion is symbolic to me in this respect, and the union jack within, depicts my national pride, kind of
  • the dragon on my left calf (from ankle to knee), was the first piece i had input in the design of, ie i picked the colours, did some manipulation sketches, erased the background etc. the dragon depicts my fiery personality and was a 10 hour slog over three sessions
  • the tattoo across my stomach says "euphoria" which as many know is a state of mind. something similar to being in the zone, especially when im working on commission work etc. this one i also designed for myself
  • the right under forearm tattoo depicts a crocodile clawing across water ober skulls and bones etc. this for me was a metaphor of life in general aand another piece i had a lot of design work put into.
  • england across my lower back, well says it all
as for my piercings, only have two now, went through "that stage" in my teens. basically my mrs like my tongue bar (wont go into it), and i like my price albert, so not getting rid of either in the near future.

bit of an insight for everyone.
