So do I, although I'm not sure about buying another car. It makes you feel like whats the point in having anything nice. I'm feelng very sick about the whole experiance at the moment.

I can't believe that someone has gone to all that trouble just for one set of wheels. How much will they get on the black market, maybe 100 quid? Split that between them leaves **** all. The only intelligence they have is just enough to steal a car, undo some bolts and light a match!

But on the bright side I live in the knowledge that these so called human beings probably live in some stinking greasy flat full of cat sh!te and puke. I can recover from this unlike them who will die in their 30's or 40's after leading a life of drugs, paranoia, and buck toothed women.

Where was it? Do you have the keys? How did I lock it? When was the last time I drove it? Do I have an MOT? And Insurance? Is it modified? Is the car in my name? What inconvenience have I been caused? Bla Bla Bla.

Lots more than that, those are just what I can remember, the phone call lasted 30 minutes! This was phone call number 2, I had already done the first with a different department only a couple of hours previous.

Fu@k me, if ever it was found after some to55er has ragged it to death, that's how I'd want it found..! Lol, no question about it being repairable..!

Make sure the ins co pay you a decent price and move on. As you say, it's not the end of the world..

Was all legal and above board but insurance companies always make me nervous, they don't all sit in state of the art offices for free!!

Was anything else removed???

Im thinking that someone took the wheels to put on their own car. As you said earlier, not worth the effort just to sell on.

Id do a tour of the local estates in a months time.

Na, just wheels from what I could make out. And yes for the likes of me and you we'd think its not worth the effort but these people are not the brains of Britain.

so gutted for you mate, hope you get your money ok

insurence companys are a nightmare, they wrote my terzo off 5 years ago which was insured for 12500 grand, they took the car off me stright away, sent it to a body shop, wouldnt tell me where or who they were, was told the car has been writen off 2days later and scraped. 1 year later check'd the reg of the car and found that it was back on the road and registared to some one else.
the car only needed a new door and wing,

thieving *****, it truly is a shame that they were not inside the car when it got torched, feel for you mate, you must be devastated, i'd hate to experience that backflip feeling in your gut when you realised that your motor had gone.

Sh*t, that's bad but probably the best result in the circumstances if you get a fair payout from your insurers. I certainly hope you do.

When 5 thieves tried to nick 4 cars [one stayed in the black Calibra get-away car] at 0300 one morning where I used to lived, the police who turned out to my 999 call told me that they get £600 a car in London an hour away and by 8 am there is nothing but parts.

Apparently the actual thieves give £100 each to the driver so they net £500 for a night's work [equivalent to £1,000 taxed income!] and the get-away driver who goes down to London to pick them all up gets £400 in notes for his efforts.

I asked plod why, if thye know the get-way car, they don't just sit on a motorway bridge on the M40 and pick the convoy up. That kind of logic is seemingly and sadly beyond the mindset of Thames Valley Plods.

Anyway, good luck with the claim though I do understand why you might be reluctant to buy a Scooby replacement. After our much loved 205 1.9 GTi was nicked a few years ago, I went out and bought my wife the cheapest 3 door Golf I could find thinking no one could possibly be interested in such a crappee car. Big mistake - within a week some little sh*t on his way home from skool keyed it both sides on consecutive days! Unfortunately, though he had damaged dozens of cars, the magistrates did jack all when TVP actually caught him!!
