Have to admit I had forgot about the launch until I saw it mentioned on the local news last night.

Good to see another successful launch I'm looking at the current schedule to see when would be best to go down to watch a launch, as it's something I have to do before they decomission the shuttles

They are designed for 30 or so flights each, scheduled retirement of the fleet is in 2010.

I saw Atlantis parked at our local AFB in July.

Simply an amazing sight. I never tire watching that thing fly.

From Wikipedia:

NASA, Space Shuttle Discovery will be decommissioned in 2010.[citation needed] If the Contingency Logistic Flight STS-133 by Endeavour will not be flown, Discovery will be the last Space Shuttle to fly on mission STS-132. NASA expects to launch the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle on the new Ares I rocket by 2014.

Have a look at this for the upcoming launch dates.

This is where you can get tickets. Now for $51 it's not a bad deal, especially considering how close you'd be.

You mean in Florida? If so then it's EST, which is 5 hours behind the UK.

If you want to watch it, albeit obviously not live, then go here and look at the "Related Multimedia" section on the right hand side, there is a "View This Video" option which will open a window and show the launch video
