If I can, people are so stupid. I've had the rear bumper of mine totally scraped up before.

I literally refuse to park next to people carriers! I always see the kids from the door open into peoples cars or the parents struggle to get a bby in and bang doors!
My cars got enopugh dents as it is!

People on the whole just don't seem to care do they. Sorry to be stereotypical here but the statistics speak for them selfs, women are worse at it. All the times I have been sitting in the car and had someone open a door into me its been a woman. Was stood on the path next to my car which was parked in a space at the edge of the road, woman came out of a shop, walked between the front of mine and the back of hers, a gap which she struggled to get through since hers was so far back in the bay. She got in, started it, put it in reverse, and backed straight into mine. I was literally speechless!

NOT MAD AT ALL

I will allways try to park in a sensible place. At the gym i park round the back by the skips haha deliberately so i don't have to park near to other cars. And before you say it the gym is very secure and the skips are not emptied at the times i go there lol.

When I'm at home i will allways park in an end spot and as close as possible to the hedge or wall so as the other person next to me has lots of room to get in and out of their car lol.

And just seeing as i'm having a rant it's not allways people getting in and out of cars. I've seen poepl hit other cars with shopping trolleys and I constantly witness poeple (normally women, sorry) with handbags scratching up and down the side of poeples cars

And whilst I am on the topic - why do disabled people feel the need to use the M&T spaces when they would scream blue murder is a parent used the disabled spaces......

Rant over
I always park in mother and baby because this is just a supermarket marketing ploy. When my kids were young we could'nt afford to run a car never mind have our own designated car parking spot at the local supermarket. Disabled spaces are different matter, would'nt park in those spaces. You could park where its quiet in some corner but thats just like using public transport and travelling on an empty bus..........the village idiot gets on and always sits next to you!

i park as far away from people as possible, but then some person would look to park next to you, so i now take 2 spaces.

I have had dents in all scoobs, its a pain, but fortunately they have been ok to have removed. I used Auto Dents 07885816611 in leicester, chap called rob, turned up, worked away in the carpark for about 30 mins no problems at all!

Arent car park spaces set using the dimensions of cars from the 1960's? Similar to the stopping distances in the high way code?!?

End spot as far away from anybody else as possible. And get rather annoyed when returning to my car I find one parked next to it yet rows and rows of empty spaces.

Every time we used to go to the Supermarket, the wife used to go on and on about me parking away from the entrance.

Of course she knew better didn't she.

When she was on her own she comes back to the car to find two large dents in the front wing.

Somebody saw who did it and gave her the reg number, as the culprit just buggered off when they realised they were incapable of manouvering into the space without constantly twatting my car.

The Police tracked them down and even then they refused to admit they had done it, saying they had no recollection of hitting my scoob.

Plod say that without the witness to corobborate, there was nothing they could do.

The wife doesn't pipe up anymore.

I've been i a small Car park near the River - no other cars in there. come back to the Car and there is this Women in a TT Reversing next to my car whilst she was on the Phone. She got so close that I couldn't get into my car, then she just drove off. The Funny this was that I was watching her all the time whilst she was doing it.

You can fully expect me to key your car if it is parked in a Parent and child bay and you don't have a sprog with you.

Yep, me too.. I park right in the middle of two spaces and as far away as possible, just too may people with lease cars who really don't care for others people pride and joy.. It's always the lazy mooses with about 6 kids in tow who have to get as close to the supermarket doors as they can so "usually" its safe to say the more leaner of us don't mind a walk to the entrance, if you know what I mean? That way aiming to protect our babies as much as we can.. Had a few choice words from other shoppers though.. I just tell them if it wasn't for people like yourself who really can't park straight and don't really care I wouldn't need to park so far away in the 1st place and take 2 spaces.. It's not like you have to pay to park, maybe I should try that in the pay and display, buy two tickets and take up 2 places..

This is why I don't use these spaces.
How would you know if someone parked in a parent and child bay has a kid
with them or not?

Oh my, touched a nerve have I. And before we all get into a big dick swinging contest, I have never and never will key anyones car.

I am just surprised I got the abuse when I have a pop a some who openly uses parking spaces for mothers and children.

So are are you all happy to see pregnant mothers struggle to get kids in and out of car seats just as long as your precious car can be parked in a space designed slightly larger to help those who need it? Really?

I always park in mother and baby because this is just a supermarket marketing ploy
Marketing ploy ffs , can you actually hear yourself.

Do what most people on hear seem to do and **** off way up the other side of the car park and use as many spaces as you like. Then walk, that way mothers can open there car doors in nice big spaces with less chance of dinging someone else door. Is is actually quite difficult to get a kid in and out of a car seat in a normal sized supermarket space.
Just a guess, but the walk might also help that middle age spread a bit.

What a small minded idiot.

It might be easier for everyone if they stopped reducing the size of the parking bays.. The width over all (of the bays that is) has reduced quite a bit over the years, I think they assume everyone drives a micra or a smart car!

It's not just you, i try and find a "nice" parking space, where someone will not park next to, or then they are far enough over.

I've parked over two spaces at the other end of the car park before now.

I'm like that with every car I've had! Car park dents drive me mad! and if I by a car that has car park dents (like my scooby has) I get them sorted almost straight away.

It makes my mrs go mad! we've had many a fall out over it in the past, she respects my cars and knows how much I look after them but it does dop her head in when I drive around a car park 3 times to find the best place! It makes her even more mad when I park in a spot and then change my mind about it after I've just reversed into it! She thinks I'm

On the other hand, when I'm driving my M reg fiesta diesel I park where ever, it has plenty of dents on it and people tend to avoid me on the road cos they think I'm the one thats caused all the dents, when it was actually the bloke at work who I bought it off, quite funny really, I tend to just head for people on single track roads now and make them move out the way, their faces are normally like when I'm driving towards them in the festa.

My missus goes mental at me. Sometimes i drive round a car park and end up with no space, as the one i wanted to start with has been filled by someone else.

Someone left a nice red mark on my scoobie the other week, and i wasn't parked close to anyone.

Whats the best way to get the small dents out?

I think your bang on with most of what you say - I'm more than happy to challenge people who blatantly take the **** with mother & baby spaces etc but by saying "You can fully expect me to key your car" does lead people to believe you have and would use a key!!

I normally park horizontally across 4 disabled bays, get out, do a cartwheel and then skip around the supermarket like Shirley Temple on E...

Seriously - if I had a pound for every door dink paranoia thread on here, I would have enough money to buy something for several pounds
