Kids arrived back a short while ago (one of the neighbours dads went with them to keep an eye on all 9 of them rather him than me) with carrier bags full of sweets, crisps, fruit, nuts and money, they really enjoyed themselves So glad I bought a load of sweets to give the kids who called here, thankfully no neds called, just wee kids while their parents waited at the top of the drive, it was all really cute

We've put a "help" notice on the door, written in blood of course.
Then when a ****** knocks on the door we turn all the out side lights off and make a bang on the door, and let out a scream or a help me.
...although not what we intended, I think we have stopped one mum from sleeping well tonight.

HEHE did the same turned all the lights out, (sent the little one out with the mrs, to do his T&T) and waited in
I had a kiddies mask with a silk back, so i turned it round so the silk hood covered my face, i have a torch that emits groans and howls, and a very eerie "help me" moan & other effects (very loud as well) it was a pressie to my eldest, but he thought it uncool, so he gave it to me
I Just pressed the button as i opened the door very slowly, and i was crouched down at the kids level too,
Quite a few of the kids literally jumped as i opened the door, and the odd parent too!

Any kids t&t us out here then they're welcome to any reward they get! **** - our friends can't find us sometimes!!
Ez went t&t at Lakenheath base with some friends & had an absolutely great time. She got home about 30 minutes ago with an absolutely humongous bag of sweets! I think the Americans are more into it than us Brits, so we were happy that she was asked.
She sure brushed her teeth tonight

Only one way to sort the wee ******* out
Dip a bag of Brussel Sprouts in melted cooking chocolate the night before, leave overnight in fridge.
Then watch the greedy wee gets grab as many as they can
Then see who the trick is on

Can't stand the whole thing personally. I'm safely tucked away in a back bedroom right now that's not visible from the street - the rest of the house is strictly lights off and nobody's home. I'd have 'b*gger off' painted in blood on the front door if I thought it would do any good.
I guess if some people like this (very recent, American) tradition then that's fair enough, but I wish there were some recognised way to opt out. A sign that means 'knock on this door and YOU will get pelted with eggs and a firework shoved somewhere unexpected', perhaps, just to redress the balance.
But, alas, the best thing I can say for ASBO night is that it's a good excuse to spend the evening down the pub. Unless anyone has any better ideas...?

I certainly would not give them any cash on principle. I dont see why we should have to put up with some weird US tradition so that the children have an excuse to come round virtually demanding money with menaces. Not the best way to bring a child up I reckon.
I will give them a sweet each if they are pleasant children however.

Im not a great fan of kids but it doesnt take much to buy a box of sweets 1 night a year. Better they are out trick or treating than slashing tyres (ok so they might do that on the way home lol). I remember trick or treating as a youngster and having a great time.
Normally I forget and dont bother answering as nothing to give em. Actually remembered this year.
First few kids who called last night were funny. Smallest blighter had a plastic trident in one hand and a bucket in the other. When I offered him some sweets he couldnt work out which hand to use to take the sweets. So his sister helped him out and held his bucket lol. Made me chuckle anyway.

When will you people learn, you go to the pub on the 31st of October, apart from it being crawling with fit totties in hot pants dressing up, and spending £30 on kiddies you spend it on beer
