I know I've muched on a few beasts from Glasgow in my time

They can eat what they like as long as they kill it right. People saying "any slaughter house in the UK is the same"....are you sure???
My only experience of the UK system is seeing it of The F Word.....stun the pig, slit the throat. Grim but relatively pain free i assume?
Anyone watching the Japs pull the dolphins out by their tales, dump them in flat beds and drive them to the yard, then slit their throats with a machete while they wiggle about for ages while blood gushes out of them.....clearly still alive and aware - MUST agree that's not the way to go. If you did that to a UK farm mammal you'd go to jail!

Here's me and Diago the dolphin. I didn't feel the need however to kill and eat him.
I eat cows, pigs, fish etc but only when man, being the supreme intelligence on the planet can maintain the species they eat do they get the right to eat it. Just my opinion and everyone is allowed theirs.

Take yourself to a slaughterhouse with 3000 cattle waiting to become steak. After the first one gets the off, the other 2999 know exactly what is about to happen. Most of them look like that powerpoint presentation with the mad cow. Say it takes three seconds to give it the bolt, hoist it up and bleed it. The 3000th one in line will be there smelling death and panicking for a couple of hours before it gets to the front of the queue. Can't see how that differs
