P1 availablity!
#31
I looked at getting one recently.
If the dealer had one in the showroom prices ranged from £27,600 to £28,000 for a new car , based on book price trade in for existing MY2000 turbo.Big dealers in affluent areas wouldn't do deals though.
All dealers, if they didn't have a car in stock, offered list price, as there are no incentives from IM as yet.
The P1 is great, but it is not worth that much more than a normal turbo.
I have opted for the Prodrive Performance Pack and £10k in the bank.
I am sure there wouldn't be that much in it at the traffic lights!!

Feel much better today so would like to apologies to MR Collier and others who dont have P1's WELL done - wait till spring and you will get a nice straight P1 for around 22K - consider it a present from me
You would buy one as a weekend car?? are you married?? would you like to be??
Johnathan - a scoobie dealer paid you £26,750 CASH - 21 days ago for your P1??? well well - could you tell me who it was so I can make a little telephone call?? - not that I dont believe you or anything but my Bruver leases cars for a living - he runs a couple of P1's and Standard cars as well as every other make/type - and, amazingly, he says that there is NO way on earth that you could get that in cash off a dealer for a used P1 - he wants to offer the same dealer his P1's when the time comes to put them into the trade. So would be obliged for the details thanks a lot my man you will make a lease hire firm immensley happy!!
NOW, if it was all part of a Part Ex deal then I'm afraid, whatever the dealers say, you didnt get £26,750 - plenty of ways to skin the same cat - you cannot be that niave surely to god?

They can't sell'em can they?
Oh dear - wait till January and you will see 'cancelled orders' at around the £22k mark
You are going to look awfully stupid in January when the P1's are being off loaded
------------------------------------
As you and your brother know that much more than me please if you can source me a brand new one for 22k in Jan I will buy it. Surely you can let me know what dealer to go to now to place my order ?
I didnt say that my P1 was a straight cash deal. And maybe your right there could of been £500-700 over allowance in there. But Ive bought 16 cars in the last 3 years and do understand what goes on. The dealer occasionaly posts on this board anyway. Also remember this is the worst time to change a P1 and anyone knows that, as Scooby dealers can still get brand new ones with IM incentives. When this finishes Scooby dealers will then only have one option to source P1's. So whilst a straight std low mileage car might be worth 24-25k now I cant see it diving a lot more.
I still cant see why you have to slag owners of P1. Trying to make them feel crap about their purchase. You are the type of person thats tries to create an STI/ UK car divide. Why I dont understand. Yes I can see your beef with IM and understand it to a degree, but thats not the fault of any Impreza driver here. Ive owned both STI's and UK cars and enjoyed both. Might even make Saj an offer for my old motor when his Smart arrives.
Please just leave P1 threads alone. Its boring to see the same crap posted each time. Just let people enjoy their P1's. I enjoyed mine and all the £7k depreciation that went with it. Still that why I work.
Yes I am married with kids and would still fancy a P1 as my weekend runabout.

nice one sunil
i'd luv a P1 but am not sure i can justify the extra cash i would need at the moment to upgrade from my MY00. (which is still a damn good car).
i know someone who knows someone who has just got shot of his MY99 for around 18k against a brand new P1 for 28k from his local dealer !!
got me thinking and looking at various bank statements double quick !
trouble is i've now gone straight and got a permanent job rather than contracting so cash is much more precious now
interesting to see some dealers still looking for 33k + for already registered P1's !!!

Jonathan - thanks for the post - you dont want to marry me then??
I like to see who take life with a smile (Suntit) and those who really need to get out more often (WayneLivesey) and sometimes your goodself
Maybe you paid £5k over the odds for your S4?? so that makes my prediction practically true - you have bought 16 cars in 3 years?? impressive ............... my bruver has bought around 1000 - sorry, but I will listen to what comes out of his mouth more than someone not in the business, ok? I see that you are a sales manager, so you know how to deal.
I dont want to upset P1 owners at all - I think the cars are brilliant (they would be better as 5 door wagons mind you!!)
They just are NOT worth, IMHO, £31K !! and will argue my point of view whenever I wish - maybe you would like to stop rising to my bait?
Have a great Xmas in whatever you drive - I have an E reg rusty Metro 1.3L
