This is the car. Can't believe he didn't get more interest in here. At the time it was on here I was dead set on the Lancia so never looked into it.

It does sound like a good'un. My old car was very similar although a UK car I'd put RA seats in it. My car is still on pistonheads for sale James. Knock the lad down as it needs a service but assuming he hasn't kanckered it in 4 months its still a great car.

I didn't realise Well Lane is only down the road from here and they have a P1. Had a quick look today and looks OK. Bit over my budget but going to see if I can blag a go over the next couple of days.

Yep that looks like a good one - I have had my eye on it too. Well worth a look. Could be the one for you.

I am not back in the UK untill early Dec so no point in me asking after it at the Mo

Which one on PH is your old car Edd?

Subaru : SONIC BLUE IMPREZA TURBO 290BHP

Here. I'm looking at a P1 this lunchtime and if I've got time I'm going over to Walkers Lancia. Yesterday was the first time my wife has seen the Integrale in the flesh and I was surprised to here she quite liked it - found the LHD "quirky" LOL.

That one caught my eye too Edd. Very Nice Car.
I would probably lose the stickers and put speedline turinis on it.
The white wheels also set if off well though.
Funnly enough Its going to be the opposite for me I am going to have the quirk of driving RHD in Germany with less time spent on the UK roads.

I was out with a another Brit SN member in Germany - talking about if have the wheel on the ´´wrong side´´ really holds you back.

1. He said the biggest pain was in actual fact car park machines next to barriers
2. Yes harder to do an overtake. Center the car in the road - Move to outside and then abort or commit. As you haven´t got the vision (I trust my mate to tell me when to center it. My mate and me have a code. An overtaking opportuntity arrises. He says CENTER. I center the car in the road so he is my eyes - he makes a decision as to whether the overtake is a possibilty. He then says OUTSIDE. Once I am safely on the opposite side of the road with a clear view. Then control is passed over to me if you like and I make the decision based on the limit point whether to pass or tuck back in. After a short while working as a team it becomes second nature)
3. In a right hooker on the right side of the road. The advantage is that you get increased vision through open right handers - the disadvantage decreased vison through left handers (reverse all of this for the Intergrale on UK roads )

Hope the P1 is a good un

Checked the P1. Was OK. The previous owner put those gash afterburner rear lights on which looked awful. The front splitter and bumper had been chopped (and resprayed at some point) which looked a bit like a front mount had been fitted in the past but I couldn't see any marks in the engine bay. Had Alcon brakes but they were very lipped and had recent new short motor by scoobyclinic. Quite a bit of history but only the minimum I'd like to see on a car.

Felt sooo good back behind the wheel though Much quicker than my UK turbo and settled into the car very quickly. Got out with a big grin on my face and my wife said "I take it thats a no to the Lancia?"

"Well, um YES"

Off to Well Lane again tomorrow and have a look at that one. More miles and more owners than I'd like and more money but its not been buggered with in any way.

So, in answer to my own thread, I don't think I'll truly be happy with a new age although overall they are better VFM and if it was my main car, the choice would be harder. BUT its got to a be a P1. Maybe not now but without question, once I find the right one within budget, it'll be bought.

Cheers all

9 years and 170K in a classic, now 4 months and 5K in a Bug PPP, just not the same experience, not even close, I posted at the time saying it didn't feel as raw, seems i'm not alone lol as the word raw has appeared a few times on this thread, but yes it is of a better build quality, depends what you want, I feel like flogging the bug getting a normal car for work and buying an old classic for the weekends.

Default P1

Good choice

The one described above sounded a bit ropey

Cerainly take your time looking for a P1. You should find a 1/2 owner minter with low miles, its just a case of waiting for the right one as you say.
