Bald does not equal combover. Bobby Charlton equals combover
as for develop one.. quite possibly so, but it would take a fair while

I like 'Top Gear', but it's starting to lose its appeal. It's almost like Clarkson and Co. have recently stumbled across an old DVD of Jackass and thought "wow we could start doing childish immature stunts and people will just lap it up".
It doesn't really work with 40/50-somethings IMO.
I'll still watch it though, I'd prefer more of the "race an Aston Martin to Monaco" type stuff, rather than "lets buy a car off an unbelievably poor african family and destry it for a laugh - then leave it in the desert".

Does display how utterly feeble the argument for having a 4x4 is for 95% of the population (99.6 % Surryites) . Although you may have to have a personal mechanic on permanant stand-by

I can't believe all the threads on Top Gear that go like this.
These days it's just 3 mates having a bit of fun centred loosely around cars. Sometimes it hits and sometimes it misses.
If you don't like it turn it off.

Show me any of those cars towing a two tonne trailer and I'll sell my Jeep.
They only stuck to roads and track and a bit of flat bush but they probably got further than an X5 with big rims and low profile tyres would get.
Wouldn't get an old Lancia or Merc through this sort of terrain though.
YouTube - Jeep Liberty off road

To all those saying turn it off if you don't like it, funnily enough I watch TG expecting a programme about motoring and issues related to motoring. That is what TG has always been until now where they are doing less and less articles on cars and more on their abilities to be actors and learn scripts.

So this program was a slight dig at Urban 4X4 users, whether I agree or not doesn't matter but it's definately a shift by TG presenters and producers.
Are the green lobby starting to get their way? Clarkson said he would walk before that happened but we'll see.
Cheers

It doesn't need scripting...it needs producing, that's all. So many of the "funny" bits are so obviously set up it spoils an otherwise interesting show. The cows head in the tent for example....."ohhh hippos...we're stuck...hang on this is MY tent" ... cringe worthy set piece.

I do prefer the format as it was a few series back. However, I continue to watch it in case I miss something good... Not seen last night's but I will watch it on Sky+ for the entertainment value. Still, I'll have to get my "car" fix elsewhere I suppose....

I would have been happy for the Africa adventure to have lasted 30 minutes, then 30 minutes of studio based stuff .... a look at whats new and ugly on the new car market .... a star in a reasonably priced car .... review of some car.
Last nights 'events' were staged and contrived .... entertaining, just not what I want for a full hour
