The ship is about 5 mins from M62 J25 (if it's where i think it is)

This will be part of the assessment day.. which is usually a good doo.. with plenty of driving.. in between a few drinks and beers for those passengers..

I do remember a certain Sticky being a little 'merry' after visiting 5 or 6 pubs on the last but one move and sampling, once or twice, the taps of each.....

Scrabble for a decent hand hold and say this is a slury Sean Bean type of voice as you enthusiastically approach a X road in the dark ... 'I hope your (bleep) brakes are good!!!!'... Classic...

This has nothing to do with where any other club has their meets IMO. Just a case of things moving on rather than stagnating.

What was your reply Stu, out of interest?

My initial thoughts when i saw this thread, why are we moving is there other reasons???

Also that as a family me and Scott really enjoy Squires, nice run there and back, good for Kaine to bankrupt us in a hour but looking at the bigger picture I understand its good to have a change and refresh things.....

But I would also like to say guys that this whole WYIOC & NYSOC thing is getting really boring now, I come on here to chat to friends about cars and stuff,

Its about chilling out and enjoying my personal time but at the minute it's starting to make me bubble, I have had to bite my tongue a lot and its not easy when you have a mouth the size of mine

Yes Scott as a NYSOC Supporters Badge he also as a Smacs badge he is just showing his support to fellow Scooby owners and friends on all sides, that is all, he only as one membership and that is with the WYIOC,

Hats off to the NYSOC they have pulled the club together Claires done a great job setting it up now lets leave them to it- i dont agree with them coming on and trying to poach new guys asking about WYIOC, if they want to be on the NYSOC forum then they would be.

I have also heard about several things been mirrored from our site to theirs, events and so on, lets take it as a compliment WYIOC is a successful car club and always will be.... learn from the best I say.....

Well said Sarah i totally agree peeps have the right to join either club at the end of the day the NYSOC is a new club their is no issues between the two clubs every now and again you get a member that as a issue with another member maybe from a different club but that shouldn't effect the clubs as a whole i am a member of both clubs and support both clubs some members may not like that but that is their problem i have been made welcome by both clubs and i have friends in both clubs and wish to continue.

Well said Sarah, and thanks.

The NYSOC are staying as they are with the two meets. One at Squires and one closer to the East.

All this fighting has to stop ... it wont do either club any good.

There are members who have friends in both clubs who feel that they cant post on both clubs... this is wrong.. at the end of the day it is about enjoying the cars not personal differences.

There will be similar events etc as they are similar clubs in their beliefs etc and events are run round car themed activities.

Lets put all this behind us and move both clubs forward. I for one actively promote the WYIOC as AlanC knows and has seen my posts doing just that elsewhere in Scoobynet.

Claire

I did speak to you at Elvington on Saturday and hats off to you for turning up on your own... Ive been doing it for a long time now and it is tough

Moving is not just about the NYSOC.. and the petty differences between certain members is nothing to do with either club. Those differences outgrew the clubs long ago and became personal feuds.

Both Claire, I and other members have worked hard to keep those feuds from the clubs themselves...but unfortunately they resurface every now and again and it is up to both clubs to stick together and say how ridiculous they are..

I will say that having both clubs at the same venue is not healthy.. This is a throw back to past times and Claire is aware of my feelings and, as a young club, the NYSOC has some maturing and identity issues to address. We had similar things 4 years ago, as I'm sure any club has.. so this isn't a criticism in any shape or form.

In fact, moving is about maintaining our own identity as we ourselves continue to grow and change... it's nothing to be afraid of..

No club should or wants to stagnate and, like I said at the top, with new members over Huddersfield way and with East Yorks members catered for with the York Scoobs and NYSOC, then it seems appropriate to make some space and work for these new members..as well as bringing back some older ones..

Past issues will lessen as the days go by as normal folk just get on with enjoying their cars...

Default Its long ... thought about a new thread but the discussion has been in here .........

Alan... not ignoring your pm... thought it is easy as you agree to keep these things out in the open.... as one chair to another doesnt always work as members are involved.... I, as Alan is able , can 'clean' up the forum, and I have exercised this last night and once before... I dont make a habit of it but when personal feelings spill out onto the forums then this is usually the best way and I as Alan will continue to do this. The forum should be a safe and happy place for like minded people to discuss things and keep in touch, not to carry out personal vendettas (This can be very apparant elsewhere in SNET where these same people carry on with other members)

This is true... the differences going on in the background are nothing to do with the clubs.. personal differences which should be kept OFF FORUM

As i have already said both Alan and I are moderators in our specific clubs... this means we can delete posts that we feel or the club feel are inappropriate. Even if a post is posted then deleted by the poster we can still see it. This DOES NOT give us access to pms of other members. It takes the enjoyment out of it slightly when every morning you have to come into a forum and read every post to ensure there isnt anything that shouldnt be there and thats where Alan and I rely on members to highlight posts they are not happy with.

I am aware of Alans feelings regarding the venue of the meet for the NYSOC. NYSOC actually have 2 meets a month. One is at Squires and one is a rolling meet.

1 Squires meet - the reason we meet at Squires is many fold... firstly it is a venue that some of us have been going to for years, and in fact the old Squires, where baz my other half used to live across the road from.

For these reasons the club will be staying at Squires for the foreseeable future. Many other clubs meet there, we even had the bmw club join us at our last meet.

Me meeting at squires also keeps me in touch with old biking mates (as some of you know I had a bike accident in 2003 which nearly took my life)

2 Rolling meet - the second meet is a rolling meet which is put by a member and is generally over the east side to accommodate people who cant get to Squires.

I hope I have addressed the points... please feel free with 'constructive' criticism... If I couldnt take it then Chair of the club wouldnt be the place for me to be ...

Sorry Stu just thought he was part of the WYIOC mate,

And you said on one of your posts that you do not go on the NYSOC site,

Its all about subaru's is'ant it.. and rivers only go one way so why can't we all just move on. You all know who my best mate is and i can tell you this you are destroying him. He would do owt for any of you. At elvington there where people saying he drives like a tw£t but did not lose it once in the rain and i did not see one person go past him. It was fantastic to watch and entertaning so please lets all just get on..

Sadly, being a supporter of a different club can get you banded from events such as Blyton for instance. Because certain members have an on-going fued.... I was caught in the flak last time.... Can't we just get on with being enthusiasts and cut the childish bo77ocks ?

Dunx

P.S. Many details of past events have been made clear to me by Mick and Alan, it doesn't fill me with happiness to see it's still bubbling away.

You can't be everybodies best mate, but do you have to try to make them your enemies ?

Thanks and goodnight.

Nicely put Dunx.

I think bubbling is a fair adjective, but considering it was a festering geyser only a short time ago then everybody will agree we've come a long way.

Blyton was a planned and agreed stance and I for one think it worked...

The personal bubbling WILL die away and the positive, solid attitude we're all showing here see an end to it all...

Just don't tell me you're a Birmingham City supporter or I'll be forced to retract all of the above and move to Defcon 3...

THE END

Well said by everyone above WYIOC & NYSOC
All I have to say is
Why do we all drive subarus and other performance marques?
Were petrol heads and love the high performance adrenaline rush, the meets the trips and the friends that are made and lost on the way.
Its about the enjoyment and the pleasure of the drive and company.
Lets keep it that way.
