I think C*** is the only swearword that gets instant reactions from referees. As a defender we are always shouting at each other like, watch the f***ing line etc. We never get any trouble, its when you start swearing at opposition infront of the ref or at the ref that cards become threatened etc.
Personally I only start to swear if I have to tell the same player 2 or 3 times during a game.

Oh actually saying that, we told the ref 3 times the ball was flat and he just ignored us, I turned to my centre back and said hes not interested, he'd rather be at home having a cuppa tea. Can you believe he heard that and I picked a yellow up for that. Wasnt impressed.

Most of my send offs have been for foul and abusive, next is second cautionable offence and then I have had a few for serious foul play, DOGSO and spitting.
In my association I am probably one of the most "lenient" referees and prefer to use man management rather than flash cards around.
Some games you can't help it - one I had a tally of 9 yellows and 3 reds otherwise it was going to spiral out of control but that is a rarity with me.
I have had a couple of abandonments for all in brawls and also been assaulted. Admittedly never had incidents like that when reffing Sunday League. Maybe everyone was too hung over from the night before to cause problems.
