Cheeky Car Dealers!!
#31
Am i right in thinking the car,if needing warranty work, would need to go to this dealer for its work to be carried out? be a bit of bugger being 100 miles away and even more so with that ***** on the desk ragging the bones out of your car to get his own back .
end of the day he was after making a sale and took in your car.. and as a professional car dealer he should be FULLY aware of what to look for when taking in a part ex just like ANY buyer should be.
IMHO he is a money grabbing bastrd that should be named and shamed and give other people the chance to give him a wide berth.
after buying an 8 grand bmw my local dealer KNIGHTS have treated me like a customer that bought a 45 grand m3. brand new 330 ci loaner cars, free starbucks coffee whenever i go in for a service/warranty work, and all round make you feel good. thats how a dealer should be..be it subaru, independant or bmw. i think you just found a bad apple mate.

Im in the trade mate. As has been said, papers are signed car is legally yours. Salesman had a chance to look at your car and should have done before taking delivery of it himself. Its not your fault he didnt check what he was taking in. Depending on dealer you would have signed disclaimers to effect that they were buying your vehicle in condition appraised and agreed by the company. The only way they can take car off you is if you have not paid anything in full or if you are on finance and not paying it

Salesman did the deal and when his manager came back and saw what he had done he kicked off.
Salesman now pooping himself tries to lay it on you.
Tell him to *** off. It's not your fault that he is a waste of genetics.

Definitely a case of complaint in writing to the CEO of the holding company (assuming it's a group) - if that doesn't get you far, contact the car manufacturer - they'd be very keen to hear of practices like this.

You do have a legal obligation of disclosure, but the burden of proof is his. He would need to proove that you intentionaly misled him during the deal.
My advice to you is ignore him, the more you say the more you could dig yourself into a hole on the disclosure issue, so say nothing.

A few years back I heard of a similar story involving a "write-off" not HPI'd but dealer said he had seven days to try to recover the "new" vehicle ?

Now waiting for dealers next throw of the dice. Third time I have bought from a dealer and each time I have had bad experience! First time I was sold supposed PPP WRX (it was standard WRX), second time the 'Subaru Approved' STI PPP was still on finance, then this fiasco! I will never use dealers again!!!!!!!!!!
