Confirmed this also works for:
MK3 Escort 1.6
Renault 18
1987 Vauxhall Astra (which doesn't have remote locking but this technique still did the business)
I even unlocked my friends Holden on the other side of the world in Oz (I have his spare keys/remote here for safe keeping)

Did you know if you put a yoghurt pot over the outside keyhole of your houses front door lock, connect the yoghurt pot by a tight piece of string to another yoghurt pot situated over the keyhole of your car and unlock your house door (from the inside) your car door will also unlock It works the same way to lock the car, it's amazing, go try it
ps it doesn't work with fruit corners though

Holding the key fob against your temple while pressing the lock or unlock button increases the range on Merc, Beemer, Audi, Ford, Mini, FIAT and RangeRover [from personal experiences] from 15-25 metres to at least 60-90 metres. Its a very useful trick if you are rushing to catch a train and want to doublecheck you've locked the car after you've already started to run for the train: I have even done it from the airport car park bus!
It is also useful if you are walking back to your car in a field in the dark after an open air concert and you can't quite remember where you left it as you can check without having to walk up and down all the rows of cars though I now hang an LED flashing strobe from the interior mirror before I leave the car.

This may be SIAL but i have just found this method out and tested it and it works.
If you dont have your car keys for what ever reason you can unlock a car using your mobile phone.
Contact who ever has your spare keys and then get them to bring you the keys, then press the unlock button whilst pointing the fob at the car and hey presto it unlocks the car.
It can also lock it back up again if you so desire.
Have just tried it on a SAAB, Audi and a BMW and it works on all of them.

Just tried in on our Honda CRV. Bingo!
Also, has anyone tried using their brain as a transmitter? Try walking away from your car until the remote no longer activates the central locking. Then look at the car and press the key fob while pointing it at your temple. Works every time! Tried it in our works car park in the summer on:
CRV
Fiesta
Rover 75
Accord Type R
All worked perfectly, using " the power of the mind "

what is this retard day?
have the people saying that touching a 2" key fob to a 6ft human ever wondered what those big metal things were on the top of houses?
using your body to increase the range of a remote is hardly a crop circle!

2 others members on here mocked me yesterday, that was until they tried it.
They too thought i was taking the p#ss they rang me last night after they tried it. One of them has a company Audi and his spare keys are kept in his office so he got somebody to try the test over his mobile and it worked.
I havent seen too many people say they have actually tried it on here just p#ss taking, fine i'm only posting the results to what i and others have tried and tested.
Yes the head method works up to about 200 metres away but you are still fooked if you have no keys at all to point at your head.

What if the keys are in the car to start with, last month my mates kid took his keys off his drivers seat and locked himself and the keys in the car.
He is only 2 so getting him to press the correct button was a non starter, he called the AA who got in 30 minutes later.
Chrysler Voyagers are known to lock themselves, keys in engine running, i have got into 2 of them using the brick tie method down the door seal but the mobile method may have worked quicker.

So if you point the mobile phone at your head and stand further back will your car still unlock
Feel free to try it and let us know
I would try the mobile phone method but I have to put the key in the door of my car to unlock it

I think we have already clarified this - According to Zippy earlier in the thread, apparantly, you have to point the phone directly at the door handle. This is so that the cosmic rays can take form and use thier power to physically lift the handle.
Pointing the phone at your head may damager your melon if the person on the other end of the phone is making violent gestures.
However, point the phone at your *** and get the person to make up and down movements with the phone and it could be interesting.
It would also raise the interesting debate as to whether you and you mate with the spare key had just commited a gay sex act.
