SlimJ, this tool will format to large size fat32 so you can use it again.
I've used it to send stuff to my cousin who's a mac nut.

Humm.. Does it not look to anyone else that the OP is copied and pasted straight out of a spam email? The wording to me looks like bad advertising rather than genuine insight?
Even the font looks copied and pasted?

A 360 also supports HFS+ (a Mac disk format) which supports bigger than 2GB (4 TB file sizes I think). So you can get USB device with larger than 4GB files so you play large HD movies on the 360 if required.

what file format does the 360 support ? I copied some .mkv files to an HFS+ formatted USB drive and the 360 wouldn't recognise them ?
Did i need to convert the .mkv to wmv ? Bit of a pain if that is the case.

The 360 doesn't recognise those mkv files, very annoying as most HD files are in that format!
Just downloading Planet Earth in HD, tried one episode on the 360 and it looks stunning!

The PS3 has been updated about a month ago and can now watch all those video codecs mentioned.
Makes it sweet with my attic pc as all my movies are saved to there, then it's just a case of sitting down in the lounge, scrolling down the list on the PS3, picking the appropriate file and pressing play.

Better to stream them, must have a high speed wireless though, or burn them to dual layer DVD's.

Goldman,
I've bought one of those INOi Media HDD's you recommended and I must say thanks, it's a very useful little gadget.
I'm struggling with one thing though. I just D/L'd a 720p AVI of a Planet Earth and can't get it to play. It's visible in the playlist, but when I select it the drive jumps over it to the next file down. I wondered if the file name might be too long, or the inclusion of a few full stops in the filename might cause issues, but I've tried various fixes and can't get it to play. All the other files seem to run fine, but this one is 2.2gb as opposed to 700-900mb. I wouldn't think the size would be the problem as you say it can run 4gb HD material well. Any ideas ????
Also, I'm running it on my bedroom LCD at the mo', and I can't seem to get audio from the L/R output at the same time as trying to view the video at 720p through component. Do you have to use digital audio out with component, or is it my TV which isn't allowing the audio to come from a separate connection (I've told it to get audio from the line inputs but it doesn't
Cheers, David.

The audio is output to the AV amp (from the PS3) via optical digital (have yet to buy a HDMi passthrough unit) with that set up I can have 5.1 and dolby digital but as yet haven't had one in DTS so not sure whether that works or not.
Once I replace the amp I "should" be able to receive Master HD audio.
