I don't think people realise the spec D is just an STI dressed like a WRX SL. Mechanically it can do everything the standard STI can.
Mine is now a discreeter spec D. I'll post some photos once I have my prodrive springs fitted, but it will basically look like the JDM STI A-Line (google it). The JDM version of the spec D but with the IMHO lesser 2.0 engine.

Thanks for the offer, but iv'e already got a 5dr wrx with ppp, and don't need a five door anymore, i used to have a bugeye sti without ppp so i know a bit about what they drive like, its just the newer stuff i have'nt kept up with so i don't really know whats good and whats bad nowadays.

I did drive the new 2.5 impreza, admittedly not an sti, and not a hawkeye, but i was'nt that impressed, and i'm having trouble finding 2.5 sti's in my area (south west) for reasonable money, i think i'm going to go for the wr1, and risk being accused of being gay.

Yes it was the new improved ugly hatchback, my missus liked it a lot, but i just could'nt bring myself to buy one, i'm probably going to buy the wr1 today, unless i can find a hawkeye sti, for a good price in the next three hours!
