To be fair chaps, if the webby has made some money out of this site, then blooming good luck to him! It will be a pity if it does have negative implications for SN, but I know that if I created a site and was offered a tempting sum for it, I'd take their hand off up to the shoulder!! 
If SN does go downhill, then look at it this way: one of you IT bods can use webby's experience of setting up SN as a template, create SN mark two, watch it grow to the point where someone makes you an offer you can't refuse!
