Temptation to crack a bad taste joke aside, it does make you wonder why none of his mates stopped him! It is a terrible and silly waste of a life!

Yes you are right to wonder, but they were pretty far gone themselves and he just ordered it from the bar, picked it up, and knocked it straight back. No time to stop him.

It is the individual who downed it who, utlimately, is to blame, and I can understand the mates being too wasted to prevent it from happening, but what about the person who served him the drink, was he already showing sign of being intoxicated prior to that?

Its a valid point and the barman should have been more alert especially with young students knocking it back.
