Almost yes,

You may need the angle bracket on the left hand side of the intercooler, check yours to see if it has an extra hole in it, and iirc you will need to either lengthen your y-pipe or try to find an sti i/c with y-pipe.

oops, just noticed I have all these for sale and sent you a PM.

STi Intercooler is alot bigger and more efficient but really needs sti scoop to gain full benifit

S!
My bugeye has a few mods now.

Fully De-catted
Up pipe
Down pipe
and center
STI 8 tmic with "Y" pipe
555injectors
VF34 turbo
fast flow pannel filter
Ecutek remapp
Running 1.3 bar
305bhp
281 ft lb's of torque
Origional recirc valve too

I was just wondering how crutial the under tray was on the scoop onto the tmic.Im still running the standard WRX scoop and undertray.Wouldnt of thaught Id run into problems with it would I?The STI's had the same scoop didnt they on the bugeye?Really dont like the look of them big ones on a bugeye,it spoils it.

I was advised not to go with a cone filter as the oil from it coats the maf wire and creates problems. Also there is alot of heat under the bonnet of the scoobs so the origional air ram comes in handy to force cold air.
I went for a miltek downpipe and 3" system,WOW its deep and loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even the bugeye STi scoop was bigger than the wrx. The undertray helps spread the air over all the intercooler. Not having these wont cause any troubles, it will just limit the performance a bit.

Standard airbox on the newage cars is good for 400 hp easily, then I think its the maf pipe that causes trouble rather than the airbox itself. The inner wing mounted cai are the best to go for imo, worth spending a bit more on better quality imo, something like APS.

Thats a nice setup you have there wilde 1, I'd probably have gone for the VF35 instead of the VF34 unless you got it for a good price. VF34 are normally a lot of money for little gain.

Its the part on the underside of the bonnet which directs the air into the intercooler

yeah the vf34's are expensive compared to the 35's. would recomend ported headers to. faster spool and more mid range.
i modified my standard tray and extended it to fit over the sti 8 ic few hours work. plus put some foam at the back of i/c to make sure its all sealed.

the rubber thingy that keeps the air to the IC, rather then just the engine bay in general right?

do new age tend to run less power than classics with similar mods?

i'm running very similar spec, but with standard 440's, with front mount, induction kit and autronics ecu.

o also did you change the fuel pump?

You will not need to change the fuel pump if you are only going up tp 300 bhp.
Anything above 300 ish then you will

was trying to figure out y only 305? and wondering if the fuel pump was the reason.

i think for the cost then its worth doing anyway to make sure its not working at its absolute max all the time

305 sounds low but alot can depend on the rolling road used and mapping. I would hope that the person doing the mapping would see if the duty cycle of injectors etc If thats 305 at the wheels figure

Yea I went for a bigger fuel pump.(Walbro)

What sort of power should be expected from my mods then??
I didnt chage the boost solenoid, does anyone think that would be worth changing?
Iv heard with my modds 300-330bhp is achiveable, mine is 305bhp which is on the lower side of the scale.
Any suggestions?
Does that torque figure sound about right to everyone else? (280ft lb's)
I need to sort out my under tray,Iv got it running without the rubber seal at the mo and with the standard tray.

My MY02 has had a lot od time and monwy thrown at it since I bought it. It has like yours:

Fully 3" De-catted Turbo Back
VF35 turbo
Green WRC panel filter
Walbro Fuel Pump
NGK PFR7B's plugs
Earthing Kit
Throttle coolant Delete
Oil catch Can
Automatic I/C Water Spray
Ecutek remap
Running 1.4 bar
335bhp
320 ft lb's of torque

So I'd guess your not far off the mark there. The VF34 is similar to the VF35 apart from VF34 spools slighty later hence your torque figure but is slightly stronger up top. WRX's aren't the same engine as STi, iirc the head ports are smaller on WRX, WRX dont have ACVS and do have tumble valve in the manifold which all remove power & torque just to name a few.

You probably would have acheived similar with the standard TD04 but you'd have had more torque, 295hp/315lbs/ft ish??

Just an opinion but 305hp looks about right for what you have.

yeah should be, bear in mind every car varies so might just be your car, mayhave been held back in the map for saftey reasons, such as oil temps etc

for the power 280ftlb is about right, mines running 341bhp and 315ftlb so nock off 35bhp and then 35 ftlbe to match and im at yours so thats fine

Hmm,yer I was running 305 bhp with standard injectors, intercooler and with same fuel pump. Had these fitted after with another remap and the power figures were the same.
Well saying that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had det on the rollers when I went for my power figure this time,(wasnt mapped on the rollers, was mapped on the road)
Nakerd piston 1 so just had a strip down and rebuild.Still running in now.
Lack or airflow on the RR I think.(Wasnt a scooby specialistls and Im not going to name names)
These things happen

I only had the car 2 weeks between the remap and rr so didnt really have much time to drive her.but at this time my close mate went out and baught an Evo 6 running at 330bhp.After sitting in his car for quite a while I begin to notice more and more that my WRX was quite a bit quicker through the gears and pulling.
Wondering if my RR figures are accurate now as he has print outs and suitable mods to roughly match.
