A strict speed limit drive on the M25 would cause chaos this time of year, and no one would be out of fuel. That said it would delay people. Would this delay be seen as a nusiance or as a good thing in an attempt to make the govement reliase.
If I could get around the M25 at 70MPH, I'd be delighted, it would speed my journeys up no end...bring it on

You know what I've never been stuck in a traffic jam on the M25 and I've never driven slower than 70mph, I think all these delays people talk about are an urban myth.

Either that or I've been mega luck on the handful of occassion I've actually used it

if there was alot of blockades etc. I think they would either agree to leave it the same or lower it a little.
Then they would just put up council tax to make up for it, or some other tax.
One way or an other their gonna make us pay up.

Id love to see alternative fuels for IC engines but life isnt quite so straight forward. Has any one noticed that the price of vegetable oil has nearly tripled in the last five years? The reason is that so much rape seed oil is now being used for biodiesel. If we all drove cars powered by ethanol then other food prices would rocket too! Hydrogen on the other hand..........
Currently natural gas, coal and nuclear power is used to make hydrogen. It requires huge amounts of power to make it. Water vapour is the biggest problem we have with "greenhouse gases", can you tell me what is emitted from a hydrogen powered car?

Shouldnt this be in the hutch?
This cant be a serious thread surely? Are there really people out there who think that blocking a road for a few hours will cause the government to write off tens of millions of pounds in fuel tax at the expense of whereever that money goes now?
Cool, I'm going to block the main road into my home town later so that the council will knock a few hundred quid off my council tax bill

Seriously, go for it... The majority of the public will support it in principle... But then, in the UK, more people read the News Of The World than the Financial Times...

Errr no, CO2 and methane are the big greenhouse gases, water vapour is water, are you getting H2o and C02 confused.

how about a 10mph rolling roadblock on the m6, m25 and m1 all at the same time. Police cant do you for blocking as you would still be moving. Isnt there a site somewhere that allows you to set up an online petition? I will have a look at the Downing street website.....

Well - I have saved a frikking fortune by working from home this last few months. Don't miss the office. tbh hardly recognised anyone in there when I did go in a few days ago.

Even working 3 days a week from home saved me £200 a month - £1200 a year. Ker'ching

Not at all confused. Water vapour is responsible for ~93% of warming. If you look at gas concentrations of CO2 and methane in the atmosphere in comparison to water vapour they bearly register. Human contribution to CO2 emissions equate to about 0.03% of all CO2. It's so insignificant it's bearly measureable.

CO2 concentrations have been 1500pmm in the past, with no "run away warming" the Govn't will have you believe. Al Gores mocumentary has at least 9 techincally and factually incorrect points. And now I read stories in the media comparing Venus and Earth and suggesting Earth will become another Venus due to burning fossil fules. What tosh!!

I see the IPCC scaremongering has worked well on you.

Yes, they can. Driving too slow on a motorway is usually dealt with a warning, but an infringement notice can be serverd.

The only way to change this increase is to screw up the economy or stop buying fuel I don't think Shell Oil would let this happen for long. Don't use your car, things will start to suffer, less money being made from camera's, road tax, fuel tax in the end they will cripple the Government, but old GB knows tha twe could never go ahead with this, as we will loose out ourselves.
