In ultimate form (not including the drag stuff) this was interesting
YouTube - Fifth.Gear Boat vs F1 vs Bike
So at a 9 sec quarter Andy F could give a GP car a good run, imagine the look on Alonso's face only to see some bloke in a scoob alongside !!!!

didn't the boat max at 80mph ish, rutter couldn't keep the front down for a spot on launch and jenson flicked traction control ON, then at around 100mph if memory serve, floored it a f**ked off.
So it conclusively proves:
boats ain't right fast.
should have been walker (damn fast outta the blocks that boy) not rutter.
computers make things faster.

However, by patching together the evidence, it looks like Nick Heidfeld's F1 BMW did it in around 5m 57s. A Radical road-legal car, with V8 twin Hyabsua engine did in it 6m 55s. Full-on Porsches are in the low 7s bracket. I can't find any meaningful figures (ie recent) for race bikes, but something around the high 7s looks possible.
On the short modern GP circuit, Schumacher holds the record at 1m 15s with the bikes the best part of 20s slower.
The reason no direct comparisons are available is because unless you privately hire the full circuit, you're going round with regular drivers and have to stop about 1Km from a full lap distance for safety. Heidfeld's record is fruther confused by the fact that he had to slow in various places to record video footage, so he never did a full flying lap and his potential 6m 40s time is estimate from split times and video evidence.
But whichever way you look at it, the cars are quicker. A lot.
Richard.
