Not many straights, true, but if I can hit 105 on the straights in a 231 bhp Octavia, an R1 would leave you for dead. And apart from the hairpin, the corners at Knockhill aren't THAT tight.

Go here and play with the calculator and see that you need to do a 10 second 1/4 mile.
I make it 900 - 950 bhp in a new age!

As I see it, we normally decide after many pages of posts that :
-Bikes are much faster than cars (except Formula 1 etc)
- A modded Scoob will win on a twisty, wet, bumpy surface.

i was running wrx on 1 bar of boost i have not raced an r6 i think they are top of the 60 range i have passed a couple at about 130 to 140 on acceleration
i was saying as for beating a bike round track it depends on the bike the scoob and both drivers
and one last remark i cant believe you go to AVA biggest bunch of cowboys i have ever had the mis fortune to deal with u cant value your car much to go there

I never said i went to AVA, i said my mates cossie went there. As for you saying they are cowboys, my mates cossie holds the record for the fastest cossie running a T4 so they cant be that bad.

I own this >>>
and a 500bhp scoob. <<<<< view my scooby
The bike is way quicker full stop. The problem with a bike is getting the power down whilst keeping the front wheel on the ground.
accelerate on a bike at 100mph and you'll just clear off from pretty much anything.
I've been up against 750's and a 1993 fireblade (900cc) in my car with average riders and their was very little in it.
I let a mate ride my bike whilst I was in the car and the bike was noticibly quicker.
A good rider will be way quicker than a good driver.
a good driver will be quicker than an average rider.
Its not just about the power its also about who's hands the power is in.
Thats on the straights twisties are a different animal all together!!!

Only frame of reference when i/we know we were booting it was my (gsxr750) v Dazzas Atom V Brun's 300bhp scooby.
Went something like this:
me: *** thats atoms fast or i am spinning up here
Dazza: bikes keeping up here, bugger
Brun: guys, guys...helllo guys, where'd everyone go?
basically straightline ya got no chance.
fast a roads, no chance
smooth twisty b roads, 'arf a chance
wet, bumpy twisty, rutted b roads (admittedly thats most b roads in the uk)...all yours fella

had that car up to 154 racing with a bike, how many bikers are willing to go to 180 on the bike scary at that speed
#72
took it to someone who knew what they were doing they took out coils discovered a bit of dampness dried them off and the car ran great.
they are cowboys only thing missing from there yard was the saloon doors and a couple of horses
your mate may have fastest cossie but how much of the work was needed, and how much did they add on for themselves

just to add if a R6 is only a little slower than a BTCC car then you would need well over 700 bhp as zens car around all the TA tracks was a few s slower than BTCC times and he is well over 700 bhp

i would race with you just for the hell of it not got same car now tho

the only bikes i have close race with are 600s to 650s i once raced a 750 i was up at 154 and he was bit in front only just managed to maintain the gap was not catching him tho

not exactley true matey....i needed somewhere warm to sit afterwards as it was fuking cold and dark that night and as good as the bike is it does need a heater or summink

tbh guys the whole bike v car personal experience showed me one thing, my 7 year old 7fiddy was sticking with the atom and leaving Brun, so when folks in fast cars say they have had superbikes its bollox, as a new 600, let alone a thou, in a straightline at least would achieve what happened in our little race.
simply put either the rider wasn't trying that hard or didn't have the goolies to open it right up i.e. the bike should win 90% of the time, some folks THINK they have come close but it simply isn't true.
Which funnily enough was partially the point of my very first ever post....i may not have been that polite though, ooops.

well we can let the rest decide i went to them because my boost was cutting back under acceleration. They done two hours on rolling road at 75 an hour then came back saying that my compression was too high. To fix this they would have to rebuild the engine and put low compression pistons it it at 700 for pistons and 2500 for rebuild that was going to take minimum 6 weeks

My advice to you is to stay away from AVA as they dont need clowns like you thru the doors anyway
Did this other place you took it too explain how a damp coil pack can cut the boost back? LOL
Ps....keep a wee eye out for a scooby that will be leaving AVA early next year...will be most powerful in Scotland second only to Andy F

it was cutting boost due to a mis fire fairly obvious. AVA have no idea what they are doing i think it shows how amatuer there outfit is when it is in the middle of a farmers field.
i doubt very much about the quick scooby leaving ava i will be amazed if it gets to end of road without expiring
total con men, think the guy once slept with a mechanic

This is what happens when an R1 races a fast car:
YouTube - Bugatti Veyron vs. Yamaha R1 RACING DOWN MOTERWAY
It might cost a lot of money but as Andy F and others have proved, its completely possible to make an Impreza faster than the Bugatti (apart from top speed).
