Cool, 1000bhp in an Impreza will do around 230mph and a 1/4 mile in 8seconds at circa 170mph......... and when someone does that, then I'll believe they have 1000bhp
I think the RCMS run was with nitrous, my top speed runs were without gas but most of the 1/4m runs were with gas.

funnily enough thats what i thought,especially when he was using an unlinered 2.5 block as the base for it lol and you'd be called to map it for them.But as you still (as of right now) have the fastest manual impreza on the planet i wouldnt be too worried

Hi i have a scooby and a 03 fireblade 150 bhp 165 kg and after been out on my bike if i jump into scooby it feels slow and unresponsive its mad lol
But also have to say it takes a lot bigger ***** on twisties on a bike and would depend how big that particular bikers ***** are

Andy another thing i would like to know, how do stop your car from breaking down every five minutes ? as it's such a highly tuned engine. Also how many clutches were fitted 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 maybe ?.

This season all the maintenance it has has is a set of head gaskets, I done a gasket in September when I was testing some 'funny' fuels
My last clutch ran for 2 full seasons (triple carbon) I bought a new clutch for the 07 season and on recent inspection I found it is less than 20% worn.
It does require a certain mechanical understanding and very carefull mapping to achieve this level of reliability, some lesser powered cars are forever blowing up !
I will agree that a 9 second, virtually std spec bike is probably more reliable than your average (if there is such a thing) 9 second scoob.

It will do 100mph in 2nd gear on the taller tyres so just over 4 seconds, traction is a bit tricky in 1st but it moves once in 2nd

A friend of mine works for Ecurie 25, the supercar club. I've had a race with him in a 997 Turbo and me on a modified GSXR 600 (110bhp approx). On a fairly straight A road I was a fair bit faster until silly speeds.
Modern sportsbikes are incredibly fast, even the little ones.
IMHO I looked way cooler too.

it aint ever doing 250mph { where as , road legal turbo / nitrous busas will , and are doing regular } and there also doing sub 2 second 0 - 60 s .
yes these are modded bikes but only at a fraction of the cost of your highly modded scoob .

Or, show me the bike thats quicker than a TF drag car to 300mph
Bottom line is car drivers are richer (and better looking) than bikers and hence they can afford to spend more than £5k when they want to go fast

I beat a Ducati 900 away from a set of traffic lights on the A4 in my standard MY99.
OK, perhaps the guy didn't know what he was doing and yes there was a horrid smell of burning clutch from my car, but I'll dine out on that story for years.

Oh and I'll be looking for a volunteer driver too because that speed in a scoob really isn't safe in my opinion

Yup Andy, that applies to lowered powered Scoobs too. You never know if someones 16G powered WRX is really pushing out the 350bhp they got on their fave RR !

Do some of you guys not know anything about Andy F's history, or Pavlo's (Zen Performance)? They are NOT backyard amateurs Their cars are hardly standard to say the least but the numbers are real.
I enjoy these bike vs cars debates but it's ultimately an invalid comparison. In standard road trim, a big bike with a good rider will mash any standard road car you're ever likely to meet, and under almost all circumstances.
But push it to the ultimate and no MotoGP bike could get anywhere near an F1 car, not even a tail-end Charlie

Standard a bike is faster on all counts and takes more skill to ride.
Any **** can drive a car fast and you need copious amounts of money to make them even get close to bike performance.

i have an r6 and it makes my scooby feel slow and unresponsive, any one can drive a car fast but not every one can ride a bike fast. i have not came up a cross any car yet which has beat me or come close.

Ducati 900 is the old air cooled pantah engine pretty ancient tech,but then the Ducatis desmo valve operation has been around for centuries it seems and still working fine at moto gp level..... if it wa the later 916/996/998/999 and all its derivatives that would be a better challenge,my superduke always seems plenty rapid the odd times i get out on it,but thats prob more to do with the feeling being all encompased in a car gives you.....
