Just been watching streetwars, and a copper just nicked an innocent bystander co he was "pointing". the copper said you cant do that in public!!!!!

He was released without charge!!!!!!

Why cant they do something positive, rather than nick people enjoying a fri night, cos they're jealous they are working at two in the morning for **** all money????????

Go and nick the smack dealer who has lived opposite my ex missus for years!

IMO all coppers are tw@ts who were bullied at school, and when we were drinking and ******** fit girls they were at home playing dungeons and dragons, so they have a massive chip on their shoulder!

Total rubbish Officers are not allowed to speed as a matter of course. It has to be justifiable. The first step in the speed being justifiable is to actually admit who is driving so that the circumstances of the speed can be looked into.

These people hid from the law. The refused to identify who was driving. That stinks of cover up. If you have nothing to hide, don't hide. Its just as simple as that.

I'll never complain about an officer who is speeding for a reason. But the chap that flew past me the other day, only to stop in the same sandwich shop as I was going to was clearly NOT operating within the law.

They all do it, bunch of to55ers, and they wonder why we have no respect for them!!!!!

And either meridian is a copper, wants to be one, or is seeing one or why would he be so defensive of coppers??

they arent interested in helping the public, its either making money or being a tw@t for thr sake of being a tw@t

I gave the police the number plate of a metro that drove into the back of my old car, then drove off and they did **** all about it, same goes for when my mates stereo was nicked, they didnt come round for 4 days!!!

and plus if you get nicked in our town now, you get taken 30 miles away cos our station is "part time only", and they are under no obligation to bring you back, as my mates little brother found out, and they were laughing at the fact he couldnt get home, pr1cks!! and he was nicked for defending himself against a nike wearing chav!!!!! no charge ws brought but he still didnt get a lift even thought the coppers were going back to my town!!!!

If thatsnot being a tw@t i dont know what is.......................

I would not say that they are all t0ssers. I do believe that there is one law for them, and another for the rest of us. The example we have here is clearly evidence of that.

I have had a few dealings with the police relatively recently. They are not as good now as they used to be. All the police officers I met 10+ years ago were fine. These days I have met a few "bad eggs".

It seems that they are good at sitting in vans and nicking folk after they come out of the pubs, or catching the speeders with their camera cash collectors.

They need to get back to basics and do some grass roots policing dealing with Burlgers, thiefs , and general toe rags and make us decent people feel as if we have a valued police force.

All they are intrested in is the amount of overtime they can claim also.

No.
No.
No.
in that order. More ****ed off with the ignorant police-bashing that goes on here. In the case of the police and the speed laws, it seems to be down entirely to simple jealousy: why should the police be able to speed and you can't?

Officers are not allowed to speed as a matter of course. It has to be justifiable.

NO IT DOESN'T!!! I've already explained the RTA: the police officer only has to be on police business, unless the force in question has a policy which dictates otherwise (effectively by defining what police business is). Any business, including buying the canteen sandwiches, unless the force in question says that is not the case. Unless the force makes a set of rules, the blanket exemption applies. You seem to be confusing what you think ought to be the situation with what actually is.

Nope, I think I have my finger firmly on the pulse of the situation. As previously stated, and now verified by you....."There is one rule for us, and another for them"

If they think they are going to earn people's respect by speeding along in a 30 zone, overtaking people doing the legal maximum to pick up their lunch they are very much mistaken.

You also seem to forget the fact that even if they are allowed to speed, they are not allowed to fail to identify who was driving the vehicle. That is an entirely different issue, and is the prime ground for the complaint in this case. Had these officers identified themselves and then actually said they were on official business then all would be fine. However, since the identity of the driver is unknown, it is not possible to say if they were actually on official business.

Ive not yet seen the footage but will get round to it in a mo. I feel that there is a lot of resentment to police by some (not all) members on this forum but one must realise that are reasons beyond what meets the eye as to why they may have been speeding... i.e. they are speeding in a plain car to get to a scene of a burglary, robbery, shooting etc without giving the thieves a head start or to startle them. This way they may have a chance to actually catch the criminals...

They are also highly trained and most (not all) are decent & careful drivers.

I know that if my scoob or anyone elses on this forum was nicked or in the process of being stolen, I would want them to get to scene quickly and/or to catch the thieving scum.

I understand that some coppers (small minority) may speed and some may be w**kers but you have them type of people in every job.

We love em when we need em and hate em when we dont.

Plus a lot of the speeding tickets given out these days are by gatsos or by roadside vans operated by the council. I bet the cops hate these too.

Sorry rant over.

I was walking down Whitehall earlier this week when a copper drove past in the bus lane while chatting on his mobile phone. Imagine the fus if that had been a member of the public doing exactly the same, especially when his mate in the passenger seat could have made the phone call!!!
