Pics have been seen on here before but similiar to Alistairs i built a complete stud wall so screen is flush cables drop down easily behind to your AV storage etc. You do not need to chase brickwork, and this is a pretty easy DIY job apart from the plastering.

Looks great Mark, but the building of the stud wall is not a problem, just may take a while and not finish it

Where I was thinking of fitting ours, there is a gas fire below on the wall.
I believe that wall gasfire fitment instuctions state "do not fit plasma tv's above them !

So any info would be helpful

not on the wall, but my current set up...

personally think 32" is too small too put on a wall, especailly over a fireplace, so this does me fine.

What i don`t understand about wall mounted plasmas is how are you ventillating them because they need a fair few inches ventillation space especially at the rear, they don`t half throw off some heat.

I have a plasma but its not wall mounted and i won`t put it on a wall due to the confined space it will be in and possible poor ventillation.

Borat, the brackets are designed for the job leaving plenty of space for ventilation. My Pana stays perfectly cool for however many hours I watch.

Here is mine, nothing special, all std off the shelf stuff. Wires were plastered into the walls when we decorated. The TV is run from a HDMI switch, meaning a single HDMI cable running to the telly and a power cord, no bulky scart etc. I like the clean look of no cables etc.

I only just saw this so sorry for delay in responding. Yeah it's perfectly safe as the heat gets blasted out into the room. You could rest a mars bar on top of the fire surround and it wouldn't melt.

Heres mine, but like a few others its not on a wall. Sorry for the crappy pic, but its done on my phone. The front speakers are unfortunately out of the photo as they're about 4' from the TV

Depends on the ratio of height on wall to viewing distance. Mines is ok, just. Any higher of closer and it would be a PITA.

No problems with me either, when standing the top of the tv is at eye level.

I'm not sure why people mount their TV's so high, I would find it uncomfortable after a while (like going to the cinema and sitting at the front). My TV in my bedroom is mounted to the wall so the top of the screen is just about eye level and its perfect at 10ft away.

I agree. Front room tele is on a stand as the room isn't very big. In the back room its on the wall as the sette is 20ft away.

I agree, I've seen a few TV's mounted on the wall and I just find it uncomfortable to watch as it's just too high.

Yep, optimum height is eye level = centre screen while seated

Adjustable tilted wall mount.

Mine has been on the wall 3 years without problems. Might depend on the quality of the TV in the first place.

If you use an AV Amp you can have multipul inputs but only need 1 hdmi output to the screen
