Well, I'm beginning to sound like a parrot here, but the Pioneers, although good are not twice as good as the other screens even though they cost twice as much.
I asked the question on avf as I was thinking about stumping the extra £700 for the Pio 428 - and when you test them side by side you will NOT notice an extra £700 worth of PQ.

I must admit, I too am in the same boat.
Setting up a bachelor pad in January, was ready to order this tv when I saw this thread.
How would this compare with the 42pz70?
SAMSUNG LE40F86BD 40" HD Ready 1080p digital LCD TV - Cheap SAMSUNG LCD TVs, Plasma TVs, HD Ready TVs
Basically it will run the PS3, Sky Hd and possibly the PC.
I realise everyone has thoughts on this, I was under the impression that Samsung were a good make? Although I am the first to admit that I dont know nearly enough about it.
Thanks
Fitz

I've recently picked up a 42PZ70, I must admit its a stunning piece of kit and got mine for a bargain £923!!! No way is the Pioneer worth £500 ish more...
For all those mentioning the PZ700 is the same panel take note, the contrast ratio is only 5000:1 where as the PZ70 is 10000:1 and also I seem to remember the 700 wont do 1080 24p whereas the 70 will.
The only real advantage the 700 has is a much better sound system and 3 hdmi's.
